3/348 - thanks to Steele, NWM and Owens

Things looking very rosy :love: indeed…
Oh, hang on, after R1 I’m coming 99,000th

I put the VC on Steele (120) .. does anyone think I should take it or do I have to try for more from that far back?
You're not losing out on too many points with 120. I'd probably take it. You don't want Tom Green to get you home in the last game.

Ended up ranked 83k after round 1.
Didn't think my score was THAT bad, but got stung by a couple dud rookies, have Fisher and Martin, and Dawson who looked woeful for most of the game.

Had a big win last night, just Steele on field, but as a Daicos non owner it was a beautiful result!
Gonna be hard to climb significantly with B18 weeks, but that's as good as a start to the round that I could have hoped for.

You know, I'm actually less sure about it looking at that still shot.

The angle of the camera makes it look like the ball is over a different part of the line to where it actually is - the part to look at is essentially the part directly alongside his planted foot, where you can actually see it bulge out slightly. The umpires were also both in perfect position, directly along the tangent to the arc, and neither seemed to have a problem with it.

This is also why you couldn't review it - there's no way you'd get a conclusive answer from the cameras. The umpires on the ground have the best view.

I must admit it looked a lot further over the line watching live!
Swings and roundabouts even if it was out (which I also don't think it was) for example it evens up the mistake in awarding the mark for the first Jamie Elliot goal, where in slow-mo the ball clearly hit the ground first.

I think it’s very early to be making decisions based on your rank. Just pick whoever you think gets you the most points from this week’s captaincy, and keep making the best decision you can. The rank will take care of itself.

Sloppy , rusty , clunky

Amazing what he says indirectly.

Time for the big call Fly and drop him

Not sure what our depth is like but a few of the others should go as well
Yeap there have been a few. JDG looks like he wants to be on a beach in Bali. Steele looks way off the pace, legs gone. Lots of old weary bodies is what it looks like going through the motions as its the last year for them.

Oh well i will bask in the Glory of the last 2 seasons of brilliance and a Premiership and enjoy seeing the next generation evolve.

Heap of young kids at the club looking for a chance. Reckon the 2nd half of the season you will see the transition take place.

I had one of Crisp , J Daicos or Sidebottom being dropped for last night's game (to send the message)

Markov will be closer as well.

Good call on JDG.

Hard for the captain to get up after realising his childhood dream.

Finally seen them win live (on TV) so happy enough and yes be interesting how long Fly shows the faith or when he starts the transition.

After match presser was full of honesty , love to hear/see how he addresses it away from the cameras.

No F50 pressure what so ever when we lose the ball (although Lyon sit up his defence and kickers extremely well to utilise the overlap run) , the worker bees need to work their arse's off all game , not in patches , they don't have enough ability for that.

Defensive structure looks at absolute mess , transition and turnovers costing us time after time , might need Pendles down back to get some direction back.

Might also be a case of players up the ground not getting to the right positions as well.

Back to the basics and let the process decide the outcome.

Does less lasagna mean less fun ? 🤔

I think Sidey needs a few weeks off, difficult call to make as he is a Champion of the footy club.

I am sure the senior players know,, but at a certian point in your footy career the mind is talking but the body does not listen.

Brisbane and Hawthorn both away

Time for the old fashioned approach , get on the bus , pack the eskys , time for a road trip.
