Did think it was a bit extreme, but have missed the Heeney train. Wasn't going to go Heeney, but has an excellent draw in the upcoming weeks, and didn't want to head into the Rd 5 bye with Daicos, Grundy and Heeney missing. Am thinking of trading Grundy next week, but didn't want to have 2 premiums missing next week. Already had 2 miss last week in Green & Flanders - 2 missing hurts.
Yeah fair, keep in mind that most will be missing 2 on that bye.. possibly 3.. so it’s probably not as bad as it seems on paper.

Jordon - > Clark via Daicos
Coffield - > Brown

Certainly won't have enough cash to bring in Stewart , Sinclair & Sicily when they drop in the next few rounds.

Wait for D'Ambrosio & Williams to rise enough then upgrade them to defenders or mids via McKercher & Roberts.

Need a couple of spike games in a hurry from a lot of my rookies , just need to be patient I guess for 2-3 rounds and then hope we get enough viable downgrade targets actually appearing
Forgot I was bringing in Flanders this round.

Jordon - > Flanders
Coffield - > Brown

3rd time lucky on trades

Round 2 traded in Berry & Windsor
Round 3 traded out both Martin & Young (for Butters & D'Ambrosio)

North Melb.
which fwd for darcy? feel like the rookies still have some cash to make but darcy would make a lot more

Tough. Campbell or Jordon I think. Campbell because no DPP and doesn't seem to have a be lucrative scoring role. Has a bye soon.

Or Jordon because his bye is next round. Maybe hold for the points against West coast but he isn't guaranteed to score that well.

I feel like Wilson works hard enough to pop off a big score soonish. Harley Reid probably isn't going to score that well but he doesn't have a bye coming up and he should average more than Campbell.

So, go Campbell I reckon.

Jordon, on the basis that Sydney have the bye next week. Campbell & Wilson have better BE's. The Jordon will provide you with more funds for an upgrade too.

Feels crazy that with Wines injured for one week, Hore and Reid now injured, that I am looking to upgrade from Howes to Stewart and move Fyfe and Billings on.

Best 22 so will have to rely on Pink scoring, but then best 18 for two rounds incl Melb bye. worst case is Hore/Reid go to a midfield or fwd rookie when DPP changes come through.

Maybe Fyfe stays and Wines goes.......decisions decisions.

Appreciate other post that it slows the upgrade cycle, just feel a waste of a trade to rookies I dont have confidence. Maybe wines allows me to upgrade from Hore or Reid, rather than from Fyfe.

Struggling to decide what to do this week. Main problem is the defence which has become a disaster.
15.5k cash and 35 trades left (4 boosts available).

Coffield to Draper is one trade I'm probably going to do (not sure on Draper's JS).
Inclined to hold Reid for now.
Can do Hore to Brown but not sure if that's worth a trade.
Really want a premium in defence but not sure how to get there with a lack of DPP availability in my team. Any suggestions welcome!!

Originally planned to go
Billings -> Darcy
Fisher -> Flanders
Wines -> Whitfield
However landed 9k short

Unsure what to do now, was just going to stick with Billings and Fisher to Whitfield and Darcy but then Wines news popped up. Now I'm thinking of just holding Wines and getting Flanders or Merrett next week using Jordon, Fyfe or both. Holding Wines does mean I'm able to field all 3 mid rookies which I couldn't do before, realistically if I Wines played and I benched one of them it would only gain 20-30 points, just annoying with the amount of cash on the bench.

Would prefer to go Whitfield over Flanders for structural reasons to boost the defence. Flanders has a bit of a harder matchup this week and Whitfield has bit of a nicer run as well.

Would love a bit of help in what to do if you were in my position.

Nice team overall, nailed a few premiums barring Oliver but could be worse with a Dawson type.

The issues I see are Billings and the 3 duds in the backline which you mentioned, think Billings to Darcy makes sense and frees up cash for defence. I would cut Hore first as there's at least money on his head and no guarantee he actually gets back into the team once available again. I would've said you could go with these two to Darcy and Bramble but you'd be 2k short.

I probably wouldn't go near it but Mark Keane could be an option at the price. Playing CHB and with Adelaide's defensive injuries I think he'll get a pretty good run at it. I don't know enough about him to say anymore though. Has pretty bad history in similar roles though so probably not.

Maybe the best option is just to go across to a Draper or Brown like you said instead of stuffing around with mid pricers, think both of these have decent job security but are a bad game off being dropped, not sure how Draper will go on McKay. Saw a video of Brown from the weekend and made great decisions with ball in hand however didn't translate to scoring, doesn't have the biggest numbers either but slightly better of the two. Worner hopefully comes back soon as well. Doubling down and saving cash for an upgrade next week might be the play.

Another left of field option might be to cut Oliver and use cash two upgrade defence. He's probably lost too much cash now so you're probably in it for the long haul. Hopefully he can turn it around for you.

You just made my night, as your team is a bigger trainwreck than mine.

Rd 5, you have 4 Swans and Naicos with a bye.
Rd 6, you have 5 Demons with a bye.

If Sean Darcy is back next week, and Jackson scores poorly this week, he might need a flip sooner than later.

Fyfe, HReid & Wilson have stalled on cash gen.

Hore, ZReid and Coffield going nowhere fast.

Dunno what Clarrie is doing there, but even if he avg 115 next two games, he drops cash, then has a bye. He has to go IMO.

ZReid and Hore will be back from injury before Coffield. Dump Coffield. For who is up to you.

Billings probably the other to go, as he frees most cash and one less bye worry in Rd 6.

Trade in Sam Darcy (hopefully he starts again).

Should leave nearly 911 in the bank for two DEF (if you move Naicos to MID), or a DEF and MID.
Stewart is top D6, so getting him now locks him in.
Draper seems to be the popular DEF pick. Grab him and bank the cash, or take a punt and go early on E. Hollands and hope you get pts this week and one less spot to worry about next week too.

Hore to Tom Brown. Done the Fischer Billings Young Powell Fyfe Abrossio dance. Enough for me. Wait for the obvious, a bit speculative to.
seems a wasted trade to me ... Hore "might" be back in a few weeks ...
I am wondering if it is Hore goes, not Howes (who has made more money and is stunted by his 27). Now that Wines is injured, rather than moving on Fyfe, Wines opens up more options both who to upgrade from (Hore of Howes) and also who to downgrade to (from Billings and Wines).

Looking back over Melb team selections, when Petty came back into side Hore became sub. With May expected back this week, does Hore just become sub again or outside best 23 when he comes back. Also May back I think frees up Howes a bit more.

Personally it is upgrade Hore or leave alone, no interest in another rookie defender. Don't know Richmond enough to judge who could impact Brown, is it Grimes who is a test?

Anyone with strong view of Stewart vs Ryan? Ryan better start to year, has he just had easier match ups?

I might have to suck it up for the next fortnight and play Pink D6, I just can’t find any reason to bring in another dodge defender rookie when I can wait for Kerch/Roberts/Sexton to take over the reins and trade them (Hore/Reid) for more lucrative rookies. ATM my only trade I’m contemplating is Jordon>Darcy but with Lobb hovering in the background it’s far from set in stone, but the cash would be handy.

I think this has some merit ....

Developed very nicely from a fringe player into our key shut down (run with) player ... like Steele and Miller started out ...

- one of my favourites as whilst he didn't get many touches during that time I can't recall many times of him ever wasting one of the few he got ...
- very composed under pressure ... and can kick a goal now we have seen ...
- seems to have now been unleashed offensively ...
Thanks @Tails I was hoping someone who knew something about him would respond.

Can't stop playing around with trades this week. Does the below look crazy?

Out: Daicos, Fisher, and Fyfe
In: Whitfield, Heeney, and Darcy

1 up, 1 down, and 1 correction. If McGuiness plays this week, I think there is a possible $50k gain from moving on Daicos to Whitfield. Daicos can come back in with an upgrade from Massimo, etc when he finally finds form.
I'd be a little careful with Heeney, Yeo did a proper job on Bont last week and I can see the same happening this week, it's nearly a Monty that Heeney will go forward to break the tag, much the same as Bont.

Bonts heat map from last week, note the almost non existent disposals from CBA's and I'd assume stoppages as well.

So traded out Fisher for Powell
Also thinking dropping Rozee for McKay via DPP am I just chasing points or is this a good trade?

Welcome to the site!

I would say that Rozee to Mckay is at risk of chasing points. A month ago it would have been considered a pretty big downgrade, which for me is a good cross check.

If you’re keen to strengthen your forward line, Flanders looks a great alternative to me. Much more sustainable scoring/role in my view.

Just turn off the TV and behind the sofa when North plays because if Pink throws out another 19....

I worry for the safety of your TV!
