Sorry, just edited post.
Team 1: Fisher/Coffield > Whitfield/Darcy
Team 2: Fisher/Coffield/Wilson > Steele/Brown/Darcy (First boost used)
Any thoughts my man?
@Shannon
Coffield is the only one of those 3 that you absolutely have to get rid of and Fisher is the next level down. Fine trading those out
Darcy looks fine, albeit with big concerns over his JS and him being a 20 year old key forward.
The D6 question, should Howes be picked this week and not sub, is irrelevant because of the impending best 18 and DPPs. Not only that but your solution to the rookie at D6 involves having Harley Reid at F4 instead of M9. There's no real huge net gain there, especially as we are anly really talking for this week.
Wilson may have stalled and yuh, I'm looking to move him on to the faster moving Demspey but you are effectively moving him on for Brown and I'm really not sure that's worth the extra trade and boost. The difference in Steele over Whitfield doesn't bridge the gap either. Yes, Steele should go 5 - 10ppg better and has traditionally been more durable. The question then becomes, "is Whitfield worth having at all" which is a totally different essay. I assume you want to finish with both players so I'll keep working to that logic here.
In your boots, I'd probably go option 1. If you are really concerned about your depth in your forwards, throw Flanders down there for Reid and have Harley and Carroll job share M8 for the next few rounds. Otherwise, your structure, while heavy in the backs would be fine. Yes, you can throw Roberts, McKercher and Martin back but they will earn you just as many points sitting in your mids and 1 or two of them have to stay there anyway if you want to actually be able to do any MPP moves later with Daicos and whoever you move back.
The only thing that would really push me to going option 2 is that you have an impending crisis in your premium midfield. It looks to me like you are going to have to hunt down 5 premo mids. The forwards problem is one you share with the whole comp so let's discount that. Option 2 does start addressing your mids problem and it does it by getting Steele while he is still cheap in a dollar sense but at the cost of an extra trade and boost. If you are happy paying that trade cost, then you can do it any time. Option 1, depending on Martin's season, all but completes your backline, leaving you to fix just your mids and forwards. You have the best rookies in those positions in the meantime and some decent MPs down back to hold the fort as well
On balance, and if we say that Whitfield is a must have, it has to be option 1 for me.
