That raises a very interesting conundrum. As we saw last week JHF's value is playing pure MID. FWD time is likely to impact that scoring ability but if it gets him over 35%, he becomes a far more interesting option as a FWD.

Personally, after watching him take apart the inept Bombers midfield last week, I can't see how Ken could move him out of the midfield role. Obviously presents an awkward call on where Wines plays but that's a nice problem to have.

% on the weekend was 91/9 mid/fwd split so if he’s close to that again he’s zero chance.

Think he’s a watch this week and if he unexpectedly gets close to the 35% fwd threshold then we can consider getting on next week for less than 500k.

Does he become a legitimate option if Wines is dropped?

He would, but I would say that is a slim chance of happening right now.

Butters, Rozee, JHF, Wines, Drew, Mead... there are so many mouths to feed at Port.

It is even turning me off jumping on Butters and instead prioritising Merrett/Petracca.

That does not surprise me given the narrative coming from the Bulldogs early pre season when Lobb said he would be playing more ruck this year (before he realised Darcy was probably better than him!). And then this was followed up with English avoiding contact in training for an extended period due to his headache. Does not seem to have affected his ave too much so far.

First if it’s an average - which you’d image it would be. Still…

Assume he is coming back this week then?
I'm 80/20 (keep/trade) on Jackson. Likely to hold but flipping him to a potential 120 mid is really tempting.
Will use the next two weeks to get a read on this, would prefer to keep Jackson…but agree, flip to a mid once DPP for round 7 is in play when I move Roberts back.

Just a quick summary on Tholstrup from me.

Watched him play a lot of football last year for Subiaco (who I support) and he broke through for 10 League games. Lots of swagger and personality, looks like a great kid too. Medium sized forward (AFL site has him listed at 186cm). More of your X-factor type of guy rather than your high possession getter, SC style of game type of guy.

Averaged 11 touches a game for Subi at League level, 3.5 marks, 2.4 tackles, 0.7 goals. Improved as the season went on. Played pretty deep.

I have been following him and he racked up 21 touches in each of his 2 VFL games to date, with 13 tackles and 10 marks between them. This is a big improvement from a statistical perspective. I assume he’s playing in a higher role now at Melbourne.

Would like to see him get a good run at it at AFL level but from a SC lense, the ideal scenario is he’s a one and done for Pickett when he returns. Hope for a return later in upgrade season.
