Big Focka currently Leading , side before trades

Has been following @mike89 playbook with multiple donuts

Singh Rathore & Umesh Yadav though and not Vinod 🤔 + Kulkarni ( & Maxwell)

CSK - Jadeja , Pathirana
KKR - Narine , Salt
LSG - Rahul
MI - Bumrah , Hardik , Kishan , Rohit , SKY
RCB - Kohli
SRH - Head

Curious to see if he bought in any DC in readiness for next round or not.

Going to be hard to run down , if anyone can @Diabolical can 😀

Trying to work out how to navigate my remaining resources. I'm just struggling with the fact that if everyone in my pool of players is named as expected, I'd be trading in an additional donut, locking in a later trade to get rid of them. So what I'm contemplating is putting Bumrah on the BWL bench alongside JFM.

Why Bumrah? In the IPL scoring system, the most likely player to put up a 0 is a death bowler. It's still pretty unlikely in his case but it has happened once this year! If he does get a zero, he can then be used as an additional donut, and if he scores well I'll just bring both of them on as usual.

The risk is he puts up a really poor, but non-zero score. It's unlikely he'll bat so the lowest likely score there is 10 (lowest ER) or 12 for a catch. That might actually change the calculus as to whether to bring JFM on, and I could ditch both. It's not without risk but I feel like in most cases it's an identical result, with the possibility of a very good one and a risk of a difficult decision tomorrow.

Does that seem like a fair gamble?

Nothing wrong with your thinking.

I guess on the other side of the coin is if he goes big can you then get both his & JFM scores.

Still have one trade in hand - currently got Jadeja in that spot. Can bring in the donut if necessary, the idea is to try and avoid it if possible. It's unlikely but this feels like the best chance, unless one of my players is out tonight.

I actually considered trading him out altogether but I think his BE is around -40 (assuming this game uses the new BE calcs for players with a DGR rolling out). So I think I'm better trying this for this round.

Good luck with it all , I really need to try the multiple donuts approach one year to see if I can make it work.

And I need to get players in that play in the last game of the round , once again my starting XI will have all played by the time the last game starts.

I need to trade Bumrah (& Curran) out next round , unless I accidentally deliberately trade Starc out 😀 plus time to rotate the WK 🍩 again.

This seems like good creative thinking to me.

Arguably bringing in a donut you don’t want to get a good bench score is not much better than bringing in a player you don’t want to cover a donut in, say, AFL SC (except that IPL trades are worth a bit less), so I think getting that donut will often be marginal even though it locks in points today.

With DGRs now part of the fixture, each trade should be able to get us c. 60 expected points just from an extra double player, and more if we choose well, play BEs etc.

Lost 59 points with Khan replacing Russell and great signs from the Delhi players in the lead up to their double but unfortunately all bar Patel on the bench. :ROFLMAO:

5/349
Played: R Khan, S Narine (C), A Patel, H Klassen and S Curran
Yet to play: N Pooran, S Samson, H Pandya, R Parag, J Bumrah and R Jadeja

He will certainly be hard to chase given his clear lead! No reason why you can’t be the one to chase him down.

It will interesting to see if he brings any DC. They are probably the weakest team of all of the teams who have DGRs to come so may not be the worst if that round is his lightest on DGRs during the final stretch.

I need to get some consistency.

No use having a great round if I can't back it up.

Think I am about 600 points behind him.

Imagine he would have brought in Fraser-McGurk & Pant.

Make a case for Axar , Kuldeep & Kumar.

Khaleel has been up and down.

At least 3 for next round then just move them on for CSK to KKR etc

Must remember to check his team at the end of the round and see what he did

3/221 or 4/335 Narine
Russell 112, Narine VC 72, Starc 37.

Usually a 72 would be a straight forward take, but I have to take Klaasen’s 42 along with it. If I didn’t take it, it would be Jadeja C and Pooran. Effectively take the 186 from Narine x2 and Klaasen or gamble on Jadeja x2 and Pooran scoring in excess of 186. Leaning towards taking it on… just. Still have another day to think about it.

Trades were
Abhishek > Jadeja
Chahal > Mukesh Kumar
Mayank > Starc

Originally had Axar and JFM in those last 2 spots, then decided I wanted to move away from JFM for extra looping flexibility as I wanted his spot to be the donut if required but he locked out after game 1. Meant downgrading Axar to find 2 options I liked and settled for Mukesh and Starc with hasn’t gone well. Wanted Kuldeep too but I couldn’t find an option I liked with the limited funds.

Kishan, Rohit, and Bumrah to come tonight.

I think you can remove 72 and Jadeja (x1) from the comparison. Narine is already on field and I assume Jadeja will be if you want to C him.

I would say 114 is probably pretty marginal on that basis. I suspect most people would bank the points but it may be an opportunity to make a POD move that doesn’t, on average, cost you points.
