Klaasen being looped at WK2 tonight.
Still the same score. Was going to field Starc over Klaasen’s 7 but obviously I can’t anymore. Have decided to change Pooran out to Rahul out, and Bumrah out to Starc out. So effectively traded out of 7+Rahul to Pooran+Bumrah. Lose a future DGR player in Starc but he’s been terrible and all it takes is a Chameera 2fa and they persist with him.

Narine and Russell tonight.

The impact sub rule needs to go to give the bowlers a chance!
There was some interesting commentary last night - I think it was Katey Martin who said it - to the effect that this will force bowling to evolve and make the sport better. But in this case I'm not sure it'll put the genie back in the bottle. Sure having the extra batter changes the risk equation a little, but Punjab got those runs two down! You can't just un-learn that.

Thankfully I think we're somewhat insulated from the effects in the BBL just because of how much bigger the grounds are here. Can't mis-hit for six as much as you can in India.

Good point re the small grounds. I also think that teams knowing that they have the extra batter means they can go even harder at the top. When they don’t lose wickets the scores will be insane. The advantage if they do have a collapse is they can try and get out of it with a decent batter in hand.

When a team can’t defend 261 there doesn’t seem any reason to be picking specialist bowlers.

How many boosts have you used? if you don't mind me asking
I haven’t used any. My plan is usually to only use them to take advantage of the fixture to navigate a tricky section, take a score that needs looping that can’t be otherwise or change my team around if a player was an unexpected out etc. However, none of those situations have presented for my team so far.

Now that I have removed all perma-donuts from my team and we have DGRs every round until the end, I am guessing such occasions will start presenting. Though we are almost at the stage of the season that I will need to use them or I’ll lose them!!
