At what point do I look at getting Heeney in?

Currently the best fantasy player in the game, but is outrageously priced at $660k+.

Only had one "down" game of under 100, which on DT/SC ratio could've easily been another 115+ game.

This is starting to feel very ominous as you can't pay up for guys at these price ranges, but I feel like he will slowly be approaching Gawn level prices and I might have to fade him for the rest of the year if a serious, sub-par game doesn't come along.
Post your team if you can, it's a hard question to answer without seeing your set up.

I can do this with the option of either boosting Comben to Garcia to generate some cash or Marshall out if he's out for multiple weeks.

Spending $600k+ on someone is a bit iffy but it is Bont.
Is Marshall likely to be out, or just going off the fact he had a knock last game?? I've brought sweet in as r3 probs like everyone else. I'd rather Marshall just missed a game or 2 whilst i have Sweet as cover and Soldo out (think he is due back in 3-4 weeks) than keeps playing injured and scoring terrible. Would be happy for him to miss a couple of weeks and return fully fit, frustrating watching him play injured and score 60's. Starting him over Gawn has completely ruined my season, probably cost me 600+ points when factoring the captaincy points lost as well. Tempting to trade Marshall out, but he did go 124,113,118,146,141,154,160 to finish last year (hence why i started him over Gawn who looked horrendous in opening round), so hopefully if he gets fully fit he can go on a run where he averages 130 again.

Any non Fyfe starters considering him at 426k? I really need a forward this week and he looks as good as anyone else under 500k.
No. He might have just had his best score and will be managed for the rest of the year. They've changed his role so he's not trying to be everything.
Spot on. Far too handball happy which limits his ceiling and not worth the investment now. Was in the start or forget basket given the likelihood of wasting two trades bringing in instead of one by starting.

Marshall is one I would actually consider trading. Watch for the team sheet for a clue, but if they name a second ruckman I would probably move him on. Looked limited, and if they are bringing in back up it means they aren't sure he can make it through a full game, or will want to manage his ruck minutes by playing him forward. He still has enough value that you can one trade him to a premium on a different line (Dawson, Laird, etc) before he drops too much. The main reason though, is Sweet opens up a genuine option to cover that role meaning you can hopefully survive 2-3 weeks and then either get Gawn, or a bottomed out Marshall at a bargain price.

The is real risk, especially if Sweet gets dropped or injured, but I think Marshall has enough reasons to trade that it's worth the risk.

Monday trading has me contemplating a number of scenarios (I'm out of boosts unfortunately as had to do to many early corrections!).

Essentially looking at trading out Brown (65 BE) and either Comben (55 BE) / Powell (115 BE) / Jackson (120 BE) or Grundy (76 BE) to bring in Sweet and Rogers.

Trading out Grundy leaves me with the biggest war chest ($593k) to swoop on a couple of fallen premos over the next 2 rounds...mindful of having to keep some in reserve to bring in English (ideally). Timing will be everything.

Powell and Jackson feel like rage trades, but also not convinced they're in the top 10 forward conversation. Resigned to probably keeping Jackson until after the mid-year bye rounds at least. Will look at team sheets to see if Phillips is in North's side this week to decide on Powell I think.

At this stage leaning towards Grundy based on $ per point when compared to Sweet, but am I leaving too much cash in the bank rather than having this on the field?

Just read this from Dimma’s presser :-

Suns coach Damien Hardwick praised second-gamer Jake Rogers who scored 69/98. He said: “He was really exciting. He’s very clean with the ball in hand. His ability to find a target inside 50 is probably something we’ve lacked a little bit. He’s only going to get better as he gets fitter. His fitness level is not where it needs to be, but he’ll work his way through that and get better as the season goes.”

Hardwick said Sam Clohesy had a wrist concern but was “fine”, along with Bailey Humphrey who was subbed out after a head knock, passing his concussion test.

Dimma mentioned the other week that some of the rookies will need resting/ seems Rogers is a real candidate to be one of those which makes me very hesitant on him.

Will be interesting for those relying on 2-3 GC rookies on field. In a perfect storm they could be badly caught out!

What's everyone's take on Dawson?

2 big scores in a row, one without Crouch and one against North. Back to only 60% CBAs this week after being in 80% the week before, two weeks in the 50s before the Essendon non-Crouch spike.

Obviously offers really good value but can get go 110+ with the heavy midfield rotations at the Crows?
Wouldn’t place too much emphasis on the centre bounce attendances from the weekend given the opposition, scoreline and season low TOG from Dawson. Ideal scenario to test other combinations with extended time, etc. Not as overly reliant on them compared to other players given his kicking ability and can float back in defence for intercept and contested marks, etc.

he managed to get through the whole game albeit limping through most of it which I guess is a good sign? probably means no real structural damage so shouldnt be out for too long if anyting

Not unless they rest/sub them all at once :)
That said, I think it's a reminder to jump off them when maxxed in price. But having 3 at once could be a good bet hedger as they can then swap on and off field as needed.
You'd think all 3 will tire as the season goes on.

Depends how you read into this. How many first year rookies have their fitness level where it needs to be? They all get managed sooner or later.

I guess all 3 weren't in the team for the first few weeks so nothing says they all need to stay in the team. Rest risk is real but so too is the injury risk as well, not to mention the chance of being starting sub or subbed off. We are in an awkward period where bench cover could be weaker as start trading out maxxed rookies too. Could be interesting if the perfect storm hits!

Honestly, I didn't watch the game so I don't know.

Not starting Gawn has been calamitous. I don't think he keeps this pace up all season but the damage is done.

If Steele and Marshall are both playing injured then they're just going to feedback loop into each other and keep putting up stinkers. Goes to show how quickly things change because just a few weeks ago they both scored 140s in the same game.

Just on Rozee, some of you may recall an article on the old Twitter 2 years ago showing that during upgrade time you are better off holding injured premiums and doing your normal upgrades around them. Provided you have downgrade opportunities which I think we have.
Worth crunching your own numbers on for your team.
It does seem counter intuitive but the numbers didn’t lie.
Does that mean something like this?

Rozee held and covered by rookie A + rookie B upgraded to a premium = 1 rookie and on premium onfield.

Rozee sidewaysed and rookie B not upgraded = 1 rookie and 1 premium on field.

Thanks Chumpion, makes a lot of sense.
The current thought is that Sweet would be able to hold down R2 and score more or less the same with Grundy, would then upgrade him to a proper ruck when he is almost maxed out. This is of course in a perfect ideal world which we know doesn't happen in SC.
Will probably need to map out my contingency plan and see if I can make this work or is there too much risk involved.
Thanks for your insight again :)
Grundy scored 150 just last week! He had his = lowest TOG for the season against the Hawks, and gave a way a free kick and 50m pen that led to a shot on goal in one play, still went 80+
He's a keep IMO

I had a disaster round in round 7, so will keep it simple this week.

I think I am going to have a go at getting him. Value with potential reward is ideal IMO.

Powell & Sharp > Sweet and Dawson. I could go a Zerret or Bont, but Dawson's value is just too good.
Value is too good? It's hardly like Dawson is 450K.

Considering he has only hit the ton twice this season (a game without Crouch and a game against North), I would be taking Bont for only 56K more every day of the week...

Bont doesn't appear to be playing well atm. Sees to be playing too much forward atm.

Still think Dawson can get the equivalent of bont atm, but will consider Bont of course. It is early in the week, and much can change.

Hi all, i had my best week LW at 2258 but i'm still not nailing my cap choice like most others. Here's my team with my proposed two trades for this week.

Few areas i'm going to work on -
- Second Ruck - Hopefully Gawn after Sweet price rise.
- Rationalize GC players as i have too many and chasing $$.
-Upgrade/Trade Jackson/Powell very soon.

Should i focus on FWD or chase the Dale upgrade?

$60k in the bank
