Hi all, i had my best week LW at 2258 but i'm still not nailing my cap choice like most others. Here's my team with my proposed two trades for this week.

Few areas i'm going to work on -
- Second Ruck - Hopefully Gawn after Sweet price rise.
- Rationalize GC players as i have too many and chasing $$.
-Upgrade/Trade Jackson/Powell very soon.

Should i focus on FWD or chase the Dale upgrade?

$60k in the bank

Unless you want to pay $650k for Heeney with minor ankle issues your forward line is probably as good as it can be. Sure, Jackson and Powell are pretty terrible at the moment, but no one else really jumps out as much of an improvement.

Maybe you swap them for defenders/ mids and just play more rookies up forward?

Thinking of breaking the bank to bring in two big guns.

Means going early on moving out Roberts who has been great, but I can’t see him being a long term D6 given with how good the defensive premium crop looks. Would finish off midfield.

Power -> Serong
Roberts -> Merrett
Dempsey -> Rogers

Overly aggressive? Not my usual style but the 40 trades and solid second stage rookie crops has me feeling trade bullish.

It is risky because trading in expensive players can be a crapshoot and Roberts has shown great scoring so you could be leaving another $50-100k on the table, but equally this could be an excellent move at this point of the season.

The value in Roberts is getting other, weaker rookies off field while keeping his solid scoring till last. So probably just need to weigh up the weakest rookie you're forced to field vs the expected points gain from these ins and whether the net result over 3-4 weeks is positive or negative. I'm personally keen to hold Roberts a bit longer as my next priority is getting my 5th "loop" rookie (Wilson, Garcia, Rogers) and then work on Clohesy, Graham, Roberts and Reid depending on BE and scoring.

Assuming Rogers & Sweet are both selected , they both look most likely.

Will need to see new BE for Cadman/Campbell/Comben and see if I can upgrade one of them.

Did have Sicily pencilled in.
Probably should bring in Green

D Cameron (1 week rental) - > Sweet (cash cow @ R3)
Campbell - > Rogers
D'Ambrosio - > Green

Leaves onfield rookies :-

Clohesy , Roberts , Graham
Wilson , Rogers (covering Rozee)
Reid (hopefully F6 keeper) , Cadman/Comben

Hopefully upgrade Cadman/Comben next round

Need a defensive down for Brown before he starts losing dollars

Not sure if H Garcia has $ 100k + in him

Thanks for the replies. Definitely a bit to ponder.

i feel pretty comfortable with defensive rookies as I held Williams at D5 and have Cholesy/Howes/Graham to run at D6 for a bit. Would leave me exposed at F5/F6 (should have started Fyfe!) but am happy to wait for someone to put their hands up for those spots over the next few weeks.

Might come down to if Sweet backs up this week to confirm him as a field-able rookie.

You have to upgrade Roberts eventually if it suits your upgrades now to get the premiums you I wouldn't hesitate for the sake of $50K.

Also, I expect many teams will have Sweet at R2 so it's not as risky a play as it might seem.

Would be interesting to see your team but my first thought reading this is that you have too many fieldable rookies stuck at D7/D8. Clohesy and Graham look reasonably safe to field and Howes a good loop option against Williams. Is there a way you can do a shuffle to get some of these guys into the mid line and shuffle some DPP mids forward? Could even be worth looking at a cheap mid/def swing player that allows you to move them back and forth as needed but means you can reset your structure a bit.

Sorry should have clarified that Graham would be at M9 as i’ve still got Essendon Reid sitting at D8 for looping purpose.

It’s a great point you make.
He still has Williams it probs means for his side it’s time to upgrade Roberts now rather than still trying to shuffle on field rookies around just to milk him a bit more.
Depending on his team setup

Ah yep that makes a lot more sense! Forward line is definitely a concern. I'd probably look at moving Comben back and looping him with Howes, and then shifting a DPP def into the mids and getting a stronger forward option over another mid premium. I'd comfortably field Graham over Comben or Wilson (or Garcia or Thomas), so having him on field would probably position you stronger. I get the issue with forward premiums being a tough call though, with not too many obvious stand outs. I don't mind Macrae or Moore though and think they'd help balance things out a bit more.

Thanks. Yes forward could go bad very quick. Might have to wait on selection.

Interestingly I’ve just toyed with the same (don’t want to trade Powell just to get another uncertain fwd premo) and don’t mind it since Clohesy is at D6 and scoring similar to Roberts and let’s me get two Uber premos

Crouch -> Merrett
Dempsey -> Roger’s
Massimo -> Green
Leaves me looking like this. Think this year load up on the mid premos to maximise your points first.

Side looks excellent I must say.

Just be mindful of your round 14 bye situation.

Premiums on that bye :- Stewart,Martin, Merrett, Walsh, Miller, Gawn, Flanders, Reid (maybe a fwd keeper with how poor the fwds are looking)

Rookies/mid pricers on that bye so can't cover for that round :- Williams, Clohesy, Z Reid, Graham, Clark, Rogers

So currently 14 of your 30 players are on that bye, something to be aware of with your future planning.

Great point. Hoping two of Sheezel, Ryan, Whitfield can come in up back by then. Need a bit of luck that they come back to the pack somewhat and need to avoid RD14 forwards/ruck also.

Nick's almost admitted that he had coached poorly and that his best player needed to go back to being his best player. Time on ground is still down with more sharing but the price is fair if he has turned the corner.
Laird could be a good POD, I am considering as I need some R15 bye players and think Adelaide could become more competitive from here
Think I prefer Dawson but I am not really sure :unsure:

Not much chatter on here about Kerch. He's definitely one of the options I'm looking at this week. Depends on the selections of Rogers and R Garcia.

Pre teams, 220k in the kitty. Looking like:

Meek to Sweet and run with Sweet at R2 until the byes.
Have made 450k out of Meek with two trades. He's got a bit more to make, but the emergence of Sweet means that Meek is getting culled this week

Enables
D'Ambrosio > Dale
Cadman > JHF

Dale just too good value to ignore at that price if he keeps his role.
JHF looking reasonably solid for an F4-6.
