Currently playing around with this bit of madness...

Struggling to split Dawson and Laird, so why not both? Cash is tight to can't do it with Rogers or Garcia. But don't mind the idea of getting in a def/mid donut that I can use to help with my VC/C loops as well as moving my many many DPP guys around as needed. Carries risk as I still have Reid, Clark and Livingstone who aren't playing, but hopefully Reid is back soon and Clarke can be switched at some point to a good bench rookie. So end game should be just the 2 dedicated donuts which feels manageable given the flexibility it unlocks.
I wouldn't compromise mid upgrades at this stage. If you've picked Laird and Dawson for budget reasons and even then that's caused you to miss a potentially good rookie that seems too forced to me. And letting Powell go who could still be that forward keeper. Really need to get the right mids from here. They could be the right ones but in your case it sounds like all you feel you can afford.
What can you do if you trade Roberts out instead of Darcy? Or maybe it's just the one mid upgrade this week?

Surprised at the amount of people ditching Powell and not one consideration of Dylan Moore.

Pre pre-season issues, was a lock in many teams, forward line always looks worse and he appears to be getting over lack of pre-season.
He was in my team yesterday morning (for Powell)

Now please be quiet because I think that's enough said;)

Yeah it’s a fair point about forcing things. I’m pretty confident Powell isn’t a keeper and so I’m treating him as a stepping stone type that’s maxed out, so now is the right time to trade.
Roberts I’d be keen to hold as he’s been a reliable in field scorer and so isn’t the first priority to move on. But there is a huge value difference between him and Darcy so he does unlock some possibilities..
My other option had Moore vs Dale as my second upgrade which means I can still get a genuine downgrade rather than DPP donut. But sitting around 550th I’m keen to stay aggressive to stay up near the top!

Dylan Moore is playing half forward flank for a middling team at best. His scoring is surely dependent on his own talent because the role is not very good.
'middling' is very generous
yeah, middling is what you can upgrade the Eagles too..........Hawks and North Melb another level down unfortunately. thought they had better end of 2023 momentum.

Having difficulty with my trades this week which is due wholly and solely on having used my boosts, not that I'm bothered because they've been used constructively (in the main).

It basically comes down to 2 things, do I downgrade Williams to Rogers or upgrade Cadman to Fyfe/McKay? I'm ok downgrading Williams as it brings Graham on to the field however not upgrading Cadman means I'll have Wilson on field and that could be a loss of 40pts/week or no loss (probably somewhere in between)

If I downgrade Williams then I'll be carrying $450k ITB which I feel is too much, compounded by the fact I have a double downgrade planned for next week, increasing the bank balance to around $800k which is way too much considering everyone else is upgrading.

That cash will be handy though allowing 4 top end upgrades in rounds 10/11/12 and enough left over to help upgrade Sweet for round 13.

I guess it all sounds good in theory but it's reliant on no LTI's or other issues for 4 or 5 weeks.
