Likewise - wouldn't mind one extra list spot.

I feel below is some pretty good talent, see if anyone is keen for one of them:

Tom Brown
2021 First round AFL draft pick.
Debuted in 2023 with 69 on debut.
Ability to lock in at rookie price for multiple years.

Leek Aleer
2021 First round AFL draft pick.
Played last 4 games in his debut year - finishing with an impressive 71.
Outisde chance to get ruck DPP.

Mitch Hinge
85 averaging back! Will start for most teams.
On the up, great role and elite kick.
5 of his last 9 games above 100, 2 90's, floor 80s

Jye Amiss
41 goals as one of the few shining lights for Freo last seaosn.
Ability to lock in for under $300k.

Anyone keen for a ruck?

Mason Cox
- Can be fielded in FWD line - would be on field for most sides with his 2023 average
- Provides ruck cover at manageable salary (430k for 2 years)
- McStay and Krueger injured
- Had 3 of his top 4 hit out games for the season in the Pies’ three winning finals - took more ruck contests than Darcy Cameron

The GIANTS are open to trading both Pick 8 and Pick 10. We will entertain offers pre-draft, as well as being open to discussions and planning depending on how the early picks play out on draft night, with the option to complete a live trade.

We are interested in a range of options, including...

** Moving Up the Draft Board **
** Splitting One (or Both) of the Selections for Additional Selections ('24 and/or '25) **
** Looking at Futures ('25 Selections) **

Please get in touch if interested in discussing.

Gents - I’m interested in using some of my 2025 draft capital to push up some spots for the draft.

Anything that looks fair on the calculator is likely to appeal.

As an example, you could slide a little from an R1 to an R2, and secure a 2025 R3 for your trouble. Next year’s draft crop is shaping up nicely.

If interested, please let me know.

The GIANTS are keen and willing to look at trade opportunities.

We have plenty of salary cap space to be creative, and currently hold 3 x 2025 1st Round Selections, as well as a 2nd Round Selection.

Experienced premium players are available, with The GIANTS able to absorb salary should the right deal be reached to help facilitate trades.

Luke Ryan
Lachie Whitfield
Tim Taranto
Patrick Cripps
Nick Vlastuin

Other players who are available, and whose salaries can be absorbed.

Todd Goldstein (RUC)
Harry Schoenberg
Tom Doedee
Liam Stocker
Mac Andrew (2YC - RUC Eligible)
Sam Sturt
Seamus Mitchell
Jacob Konstanty
Olli Hotton
Isaac Keeler (RUC Eligible)
Alex Cincotta

We are open to a range of assets in return, and will always weigh up all offers, with a particularly keen eye at this stage for:

High Quality Young MIDs
Premium RUC
Reliable FWDs
Early Round Draft Selections

Please get in contact if you any of the players listed are of interest, or for that matter, if you have interest in any player on The GIANTS list.

The Darkness is exploring a range of trade options.

As always, the list management team is flexible on structure and happy to come up with ideas that work for both clubs.

Willem Drew
- Hitting new highs - posted career best scores of 135 and 144 in the last two rounds

- 25 year old contested beast, still improving with only c. 80 games played

- Played every game since the start of 2021

- Very attractive contract at 318k per season, locked in for 6 more years

The Darkness currently enjoys significant depth down back, and so is open to trading defenders.

With D6 averaging 77, Alex Witherden hopefully returning from WAFL duties (!) and McKercher and Roberts to strengthen the backline further, there is scope to trade a quality player or two.

Lots of value on offer as well, with everyone except Daicos (not on the table!) and Witherden at 450k or less. Roberts at as little as 206k for 5 years.

Flexible as to what comes the other way, especially given it’s a restructure trade.

Please let me know if you have interest and I can make some suggestions.

TDK too good?

Staff writers

Is Tom de Koning too good for the bench?

That’s the question The Darkness’ list management team will be weighing up, with the athletic ruckman enjoying a breakout season - but starved of opportunity.

24 year old de Koning is averaging 95 points per game. His last five scores include a 118, 96, 100 and most recently a 122 alongside fellow big man Marc Pittonet.

Despite his strong scoring, TDK has been stuck on the bench at The Darkness, behind Kieran Briggs and Darcy Cameron. With all 3 in the top 10 rucks year to date, there simply hasn’t been room for Carlton’s young gun in the starting 22. Despite his modest paycheque ($196k), de Koning has outperformed million dollar man Kieran Briggs by 31 points (567 to 536, with both playing every match).

Coach Darkie said “We’ve had some pressure on availability in recent weeks, but fortunately we’ve been well stocked in the ruck so far. It’s something we may need to look at from a list management perspective - it’s hard to hang on to a quality ruck if they’re not getting games.”

Cameron has also started the year strongly - although an illness-affected score of 18 in round 3 masks his hot start. Outside of that match, the under-rated big man has averaged 112 - placing him second in the league, alongside All Australians Tim English and Brodie Grundy.

Darkie continued: “Will Tom want to move for more opportunity? Would Darcy Cameron chase a flag at another club? These are the sorts of things we may need to consider. As always, we will be open to opportunities, and looking at all options to strengthen our list.”

Trade bait:
  • Max King- Averaged 100.67 over the first three rounds to start his season. Out of contract (SCSUL) at the end of 2025 but RFA rights are received
  • Sam Berry- Two seasons averaging 85+ and can be signed until the end of 2027.
  • Will Hamill- Returned to the Crows lineup recently and could provide solid coverage down back across 2024 and 2025 with RFA rights going forward.
  • Lachie Neale- Two time Brownlow medalist, inaugural Lockhart medalist and has averaged 120+ three times from 2019 to current. Need I say any more!

Tom Stewart on the final year of his contract is also available for the right price.

Like Jordan, keen for reinforcement this season. Have some varying levels of long term younger talent I am happy to move.

Cumming
2 consecutive years averaging about 90 in early 20's, injured this season, so not helping my charge.

Jiath
Averaged 85 as a 21 year old intercepting / rebounding defender, 78 the year after. Injury interrupted since, so again not helping my charge this season. Decent upside at 24 and under $400k next season.

Macrae
Accumulater in VFL, struggling to break in to pies team. In this week, get before he scores decent?
Under $200k salary structure for years.

Aleer
Young talent, 2nd contract, who am i kidding...

Baker
Started the season with two 80's, if someone needed midfield depth or liked his 2YC prospects, will be cheap due to sub appearances this season.

Phillips
Hawks fans might have liked his work pre season.

sullivan
Will score 100 tonight

Edwards
Young developing ruck, I have Ramsden and Comben filling that role. So could be moved.

Larkey
Amiss

Anyone like the prospects of one of them kicking on?

Davies
Please take! Finally playing again

Caddy
Dons fans, is he alive?

Anyone looking to future, the above players could give you long term value for your expiring contracts. Can be coupled with draft picks.

Good luck to all punters!

Jarman Impey (DEF)

- Very cheap salary, at 218k per annum. Barely above rookie price.

- Low price locked in for 3 years. With 2024 salary covered, get 2.5 years worth of points for less than 1 year of market salary (>450k pa).

- Very fieldable defender, averaging 83 (c. D4 level).

- Hot form - 3 tons in last 7 matches, including career best 138.

- Massive accumulator. VFL Dream Team scores (2023 and 2024) as follows:

171 (43 disposals, 12 marks)
133 (37 disposals, 9 marks)
102 (26 disposals)
163 (43 disposals, 14 marks)
108 (26 disposals)
123 (30 disposals)
116 (29 disposals)
161 (39 disposals, 10 marks)
134 (36 disposals)

- Penetrating left foot kick, and loves using it. Averaging 23 kicks and 7 handballs in the VFL prior to a season-ending injury two weeks ago. “… so good taking kickouts that you don't want the ball in anyone else's hands”.
https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_...josh-fahey-cannon-20-impresses-vfl-opposition

- Selected in the AFL Academy in his draft year. Won the MCC Medal for best afield against Geelong VFL, ahead of teammates including Daicos, Horne-Francis and Wanganeen-Milera. Past winners include Rowell and Angus Brayshaw.

- Drafted as a rebounding defender, but was given midfield time in 2023 to facilitate his promotion to the AFL side.

https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/8181999/giant-move-to-help-canberran-get-afl-debut-soon/

- Super cheap long term contract, $180k for 5 years, plus matching rights.

Patrick Dangerfield

- All time great. Brownlow Medal winner, and 8 time All Australian (equal most of any player).

- SC star. 8 seasons averaging 110+, including 2 of 130+.

- Still has the scoring power. Averaging 89, including an injury game, after opening the season with 134. Last season went on a run with the following scores:

103
119
118
144
124

- Strong run home? Geelong are in a logjam of 9 teams currently on 7 or 8 wins … they need to keep pushing to secure a finals spot. Danger also comes up against some of his favourite opponents in the matches to come:

Hawthorn - career average 117
Bulldogs - 110
Adelaide - 117
Fremantle - 117
