RE:.......The one that gets me is Darcy Moore in defense........giving him a month up forward.......and leaving De Goey forward so they can lose the centre bounce and never even get it forward......

Hmmm, if the ball is not getting to the Fwds, then maybe a waste putting Moore there?
I do agree, the Pies have to try something up forward, but they have to fix the Mids first.
If it wasn't clear, De Goey should be in the mids.

Sidebottom will make a very big difference as well. I actually think Crisp or Maynard should also be playing full time midfield for the Pies. A group of Pendles, De Goey, Sidey, Adams, Crisp/Maynard and Daicos/Brown/Elliott types is actually a pretty decent group with a nice balance of skillsets.

Giving a target can also help the other area the team stunk at which was the transition from defense. Cox was better than he normally is but bombing it on his head is just not a good transition option, even if he marks it he hasn't got the speed or confidence to wheel and make the next kick. Moore marking on a wing or even looping back towards goal from the contest on the wing is a very strong option kicking inside 50.

I get easing him into the AFL via the backline to get his confidence up but he's done that, now it's time to put him in the position where he could take the team from a top 8 side to a genuine contender for mine.

Again, worst case he just stinks at the position and you move him back to defense...

Right now he's where Pavlich was after his 2002 season where he was an All Australian defender. Time to put him in a more important and much more difficult to fill position.

And in a shock to all, Scott is the first tosser to blatantly exploit the new rules...

May as well weigh in.

Collingwood's biggest problem is that 50% of them (maybe more) can't kick the pigskin properly.

If you can't deliver the ball wouldn't matter if Lee , Todd , Coventry & McKenna were in the F50.

No use getting it 1,000 times if you turn it over 999.

Darcy Moore will win a Brownlow if he plays a full season in defence , why on earth would you even consider moving him back forward.

Mayne & Sidey back will help.

Have been saying for seasons we need one of Crisp or Maynard in the guts to add some agro to the mix.

And please if the media compare de Goey to Dusty one more time , I will break my TV

seriously one of the most over rated footballers I have seen in the last decade , might get a dozen good quarters of him a season.

As for Reg , if he doesn't perform Thursday night ship him off to the VFL for a month.

Bevo was clearly impressed, singled him out about 3 times in the presser.
He was moved down back because of his injuries for one, a bit like Hurley was and both became much more durable so I agree I wouldn't move him.
If Moore plays like that even every second round he will be AA.

Year....once again I will say it.
who in there right mind would sign a player on a 7 year contract. It’s madness.
It's still better than a 9 year contract (Buddy).
I have to agree with you that I don't like that 7 year contract. I don't think SYD are now happy with Franklin's contract.
I am hoping the Pies have learnt from the Franklin experience, seeing how it can go wrong with paying a player just to spend years on the sidelines.
I really think (hope) the contract would have an early termination clause, if Grundy doesn't play too many games.

RE:.........Collingwood's biggest problem is that 50% of them (maybe more) can't kick the pigskin properly..........
When not under pressure, the Pies' disposal of the ball is very good. Their good disposal disappears when their opponent applies physical pressure (happens to most teams, but it's more evident to me for the Pies, maybe I'm too one eyed?).
Not sure if that is something individual players needs to adjust to, or the Coach needs to adjust the game style.

I agree that Moore is very good in defence, but I am not against playing him up forward against some teams, if conditions suit.

Me and you should be able to kick the football well when not under pressure 😀

If you can't dispose of it properly when no pressure is applied players probably shouldn't belong at this level in the first place.

I would love to see kicking efficiency averages for our players.

Been a problem for such a long time makes me wonder what they actually do at training these days and whether they actually train to improves areas where they are down.

I've just gone back to check and you right. That price is on the screen next to the SC game logo just over 10 minutes into the show. Man, the producer of that show should be sacked. No wonder I was so confused. The confusing part is Joey Montagna is on there and he clearly understands it and maybe he missed the other clowns talking about positional changes for Neale and Laird as he never corrected them. Joey's team is shown on screen towards end of show and it has Bruhn correct price on his bench. But the producers and host of the show clearly not on top of things. ****ing idiots.
What ever happened to this bloke
