Ended up with:

Brown to Worner
Sullivan to Brown (seems I need at least 1 Brown in my team)
Freijah to Zerrett

Gives me a "completed team" noting Fyfe and N Martin as "keepers".

Accumulates enough of the ball but a poor user by foot, handballs too much and doesn’t contribute enough in other categories on a consistent basis relative to some of the other premier midfielders. Was a late in for me in the preseason as I wanted a few premiums with the early byes as it looked like an opportunity to exploit coaches that seemed to be overexposing themselves to NM, Port and Freo because of their favourable byes but in doing so had to overpay for a player I would have preferred to pick up at a cheaper price.

Worked well until RD8 and not in a position to trade him so will hold for the remainder of the season but depends on your trade situation. As @FlatTrackBully also alluded to, high confidence options to be worth the cash spent may be limited for a points advantage over the remainder of the season. Remember that if you trade in a player they are not averaging 110,115 or 120+, they are averaging 0. The past is done and the only scores that are important are from now until the end of the season.

This stage of the season, you see coaches fixated on having all of the top 6, etc in each position or a perfect side but scores from RD1 to RD14 do not matter anymore and perfection is unattainable. A lean patch could always be around the corner and highly unlikely all players will fire at once, so expectations either need to be realistic or tempered, otherwise every round a new player will find themselves on the chopping block to be improved, until there are no more players to be traded. The key is deciding who to hold and who to let go if you have the luxury.
This is a thank you message as you talked me out of trading Green.

KB sub, Hutchison doesn't fill me with confidence. Worner is a guy I'd be paying $32k extra to possibly not field after next week.

Floating DPP donut in El-Hawli comes in for McKercher DPP. Have to take Clark's score of 31.

Seriously, scoring 31 off 20 disposals is nasty stuff. Very much looking forward to trading this waste of space next week.

Salem D6, Oliver at M8 look like issues.

20 on field if I dont reverse my trades. 7 trades left. Projected to score 2192 with Zerrett as C. Highly likely I drop Salem and clarrys score. However im thinking of reversing one or 2 trades.

they were Sullivan to Zerrett and Richards to Schoenmaker. $242k in the bank.

Am I better off saving 2 trades and then reusing those to sideways Clarry and Salem? Seems a waste atm to have an extra mid. I was hoping to get rankine next week. Or I can get Jackson or Caldwell this week and pass on rankine. Then fix Salem/Clarry

Might bring Campbell Gray in from the Tigers to open a D/F link with Fish and free up cash for Oliver next week.

If it's J.Richards to Schoenmaker then you can wait. I like the Merrett in and Oliver to a defender next week to allow Salem as a cover for both D/M.

Do we think Worner steers clear of the sub vest against the Suns later today?
considering getting rid of dead wood Draper and bringing him in if so…
not certain Hutchinson has great scoring prowess for the eagles

You have sold me on the idea to keep Salem as cover.

I think Sinclair will be my man. Def want to make the in a def/mid.

So I can afford zerret this week, and easily get Sinclair next.

I can also hold off and afford a 620 mid like treloar as a pod, and still afford clarry to Sinclair.

Got 45 mins to decide on merrett vs treloar. Traded Richards back in. He possibly plays in the next week or two?

I’d be going Merrett over Treloar. Don’t have the exact numbers right in front of me but I know he’s been much better without Libba in the team. Merrett has always performed better in the second half of the season. Treloar has soft tissue issues. Although, as you are a Dogs supporter you may like it if Dogs players are in your team instead?

As always go with your gut, but I’d say Merrett.

I think with Merrett it comes down to your faith in his ability to score despite the tag. He likely has at least 4 games in the run home where he cops attention, and has 4 pretty clear cut favourable match ups for mids. If you think he can fight his was to a 90+ in the tagged games he should average fine and total points will be strong.

If you have an M9 you can look on his tagged games that makes it easier.

Being a bombers supporter and having watched him a lot this year, I’d say his work vs the tag has improved dramatically. Specifically forward of centre where he can hit the scoreboard or link up. Previous years he was left in the middle to fight the tag and he struggled, this year I think he’s got other weapons.

So I’d go Merrett but you need to decide on your own thoughts vs the tag!
