I've benched rowell two weeks in a row and dodged his pure filth, with Dawson missing next week i really hope he can bounce back with a tonne.... surely he's due. The spud had 15 touches at half time and was on 30 something points, so was on track for a 30 touch 60's score. He used to be the biggest "supercoach player" in that he could have 20 touches for a 120 cos it was all contested, i can't get my head around his fall from grace and the pure filth he is dishing up.

Merrett 108
Caldwell 100 🤕

Merrett ok. Not high enough for those to take the VC but still a solid score. Time for VC Green to shine. Caldwell went beast mode during the third and start of the final term but unfortunately got concussed. Shame as he was looking at a big one. At least I’ve got good cover for him next week.
12/1297 Butters
Flanders 128 :D
Bont 122 :)
Green VC 117 ☯️
Rozee 113 :)
Daicos E 106
Dale 99
Houston 96 ☯️
Butters C 89x2
Holmes 71 :poop::unsure:
Nank 58 :poop::unsure:

Flanders great as usual. Bont good. Green was outstanding for the first 2 and a half quarters. Scored about 20 in the last 1 and a half quarters. He scores 125 and I’m 44 points better off. Rozee had a great start then copped a knock, still good overall. Hopefully the injury isn’t too serious. Daicos solid. Once again looping the wrong defender. A chance I take McKercher over him but probably not. Fisher sub/not sub may affect it. Dale solid too. Tough conditions. Houston is another one who started hot then faded dramatically.

Butters terrible efficiency early before clicking way too late. Thought he was a certainty to go 110+ today. Holmes had 23 at 30% DE and 7 clangers. Could’ve made a late charge but when half of your team is 30+, why not bench the young guy for 17 minutes straight? Strange. Nank somehow even worse and then either got injured or confirmed the Tigers are tanking. You don’t “tactically” sub out your rebuilding team’s captain when a game is on the line. Nank over Xerri as Gawn replacement will prove very, very costly. At least I didn’t captain him as I definitely considered it. Projected dropped 217 points after tonight’s games.

Dowling did not kick on, so Oliver stays onfield.

12/1427

Avoiding Butters as VC/C went according to plan albeit not the way or score I envisioned. Steele nearly made the decision to bank difficult but opted to stay with the ceiling and security of Bont which only resulted in a few extra points. Solid foundation set for the remaining players to hopefully push 2500.

Up and down day for my team today.

Postives - Flanders 128, Bont (C) 120+, Stewart 120 odd, D'Ambrosio 106 :D (covering for Yeo), Boak surprising score of 112

Negatives - Rowell 51 , Jeremy Cameron 33 , Kreuger 24 on my bench but subbed off with injury :cautious:

Unknown - Rozee 113 odd but injured  hope nothing too serious

14/1540. Hoping to get 2400 but not looking likely.

Unsustainable start to the season for a player not noted as a high possession winner nor who impacts the scoreboard regularly as well as offering little contribution around the ground in terms of marks, etc. Strengths are his contested possessions and tackles which limits his ceiling in terms of overall average and thus the type of player best suited to be purchased below $500,000 or in the low to mid $500,000 range for a short period of time rather than being selected at peak price chasing lost points over the long term.

Opened with 25 or more disposals in the first four matches compared to only six in 2023 and twice in 2022. Contested possession rate of approx 70% in those matches are unsustainable over the length of the season if he was to also up his disposal average again. Not overly effective by foot and if his key is extraction and spread to others from the contest then it is not likely to improve unless he is more involved around the ground.

Best to temper and set realistic expectations when chasing players over $600k given the likelihood of receiving a poor return on investment relative to cheaper options throughout the season and the impact it has on funds allocation and upgrades.

12/1421 Bont

Port premos not going well is annoying, but I’m glad I got a 120+ captain locked in.

Take VC Bont's 122 or roll the dice with Neale C?
I’d definitely take it. Given Jordon’s effectiveness in running with players this season, I think he’ll go to either Neale or McLuggage. An argument that Neale will score well at the Gabba, but I think the swans are due a dominant performance after a couple of blips recently.

I’d give away my first born to have 122 on a VC score, take it!

Different game, but same rules apply!
Kenny Rogers, The Gambler 🤣

"If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right
You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done
