I have Bigsby on the bench and would love to field him as I think there is potential to go big with Etienne out. However the Jags defense completely imploded in Q3 last week against the Bears destroying any chance they had of making comeback and repeat of that would kill his scoring again. So I am just leaving him on the bench and rolling with whatever the result is.
Last week third down and eight they sacked Williams but got a penalty. Jags with12 players on the field. Five yd penalty repeat down. The pass rushers gets to Williams again on the replay and he throws it for an incomplete pass. Oh wait. A penalty. Defensive holding. Five yd penalty and now it is a first down. Then a few plays later on third down another under pressure pass that goes incomplete. Oh wait. A penalty. Defensive holding again and another first down. The Jags almost walked the Bears all the way to the try line.
If the original sack had stood the Jags could have got the ball back with a chance to make it a one score game. Instead they gifted the Bears a TD via penalties. These types of performances just crank up the pressure on the head coach Doug Pederson who is already being asked questions about whether he has lost the locker room.
The Patriots are not great and the Jags will want to be competitive. If they are not or worse, if they lose badly, Pederson could be the next coach to get sacked.
