Those Thursday games at Optus would be sounding alarm bells for Freo if they have an away game that involves travel the week before.

Fixture is out.. Brisbane, Collingwood, Geelong and Sydney all share a bye in round 3. Makes it really tricky to have too many from those teams..
Carlton's draw is amazing

Double ups v Pies,Bombers, Hawks, Port, North & WCE

Getting both North & WCE as bottom 6 teams from last year...

Play Bris, Syd & Geelong only once.

Not bad for a team that was 11-4 at one point last season

SuperCoach really needs to ditch the Best 18 rules for Rounds 2 & 4 at least.

Everyone has an opportunity to plan around those teams on the bye and no-one is going to be struggling to field 22 those weeks regardless - let’s be serious.

I assume opening round will be the same as last season so we can have a free look essentially - guys returning from injury like Coleman & Smith will be popular, see how they look to start the season/ potential must have bargains.

Richmond having the bye in round 14 is handy with their amazing draft hand. Lots of SC relevant rookies that will get a solid block of games in/ no byes till then before being maxed out.

Saints & Freo premiums will be appealing having just 1 bye & the only 2 teams sharing that bye. Sinclair, Marshall, Steele & Macrae on my radar from the saints. Ryan, Clark, Serong & Brayshaw from the dockers.

I like the fact there's a max of 4 teams with a bye in any round, shouldn't be issues with donuts due to too many missing with byes, if they are all best 18 rounds. Maybe if they were all best 22 still it'd be more interesting.

R12 Sheezel, LDU, Xerri, Butters, Rozee, Newman, Docherty, Cripps, Walsh, TDK, Dale, Richards, English, Bont and Treloar.

Two of English, Xerri and TDK could be annoying.
Of the premium rucks,Marshall looks to be the best bet with his draw - Health the only other ruck on the saints list currently also

First 3 games are Crows, Cats & Tigers

Last 2 v Crows :- 107 & 131

Last 2 v Cats :- 127 & 141

Last 2 v Tigers :- 147 & 146

In round 4 he plays Port, has 6 100's out of last 7 for a career average of 127.3

I didn't want to pay up for a 33 year old Gawn, but it's hard to ignore him with the better bye. Hopefully get the most out of him coming into a fresh season. Not many top premiums from the four teams of Adelaide, Hawthorn, Melbourne & WCE.

There are also now 5 bye rounds mid year from Rd 12 to 16.

4,2,4,4,4 structure

Freo and St.K the teams with the Rd 13 bye.
So opening round we have these teams playing :- Brisbane, Geelong, Sydney, Hawthorn, Gold Coast, Essendon, GWS & Collingwood

BYE ROUNDS

Round 2 :- Gold Coast & GWS
Round 3 :- Brisbane, Collingwood, Geelong & Sydney
Round 4 :- Hawthorn & Essendon
Round 12 - Carlton,North, Port & Bulldogs
Round 13 - St Kilda & Fremantle
Round 14 - Collingwood, Gold Coast,Sydney & Richmond
Round 15 - Adelaide, Hawthorn, Melbourne & WCE
Round 16 - Brisbane, Geelong, Essendon & GWS
5 mid season bye rounds... I'm thinking aiming to have 9 premium mids by Round 12, before getting to a full premium side on the other lines, could be an aggressive but viable strategy. Since most likely you could have at least one out with the bye anyway for that 5 week stretch.

All these adjustments for byes is just getting silly. Some teams still getting two byes before other teams get one. Why don't they just split Rd 1 over two weeks as others have suggested and then from Rd 6 onwards two teams are on a bye every week for the rest of the season. Means every team gets two byes before the H & A season ends. Top two teams from previous season get Rd 6 then down the ladder till you get to the bottom and then rinse and repeat. That would help keep players fresh and hopefully reduce injuries.
