At this point in time I am leaning to neither being available.
They need a concussion sub in the squad, means they need to hold another batter back. Appears Inglis is next in line as a batsman, so makes sense it’s him. However, maybe this becomes Webster, depends on Marsh.
With only 3 days between the Adelaide and Brisbane test, and doubts around the fitness of Marsh, I think it’s unlikely he plays both, meaning a likely debut for Webster. If he plays the Adelaide test and performs, chance he holds the spot. So the scenario he is available for bbl in my eyes, is he plays and doesn’t perform at Adelaide.

Still think Maxwell (if available Round 1) to Short in Round 2 is the "easiest" route to go (not sure I like the 4-5 nuffie Round 1 starting bench option to start Short) although that limits me getting a Behrendorff/Hardie price type though which is a worry.
Could be extremely interesting if Maxwell misses Round 1 and then trying to get he , Duckett + BH/SS premiums in for Round 3 , cross that bridge if it eventuates.

Actually if Maxwell and Webster were to miss Round 1 , the 3 x $ 58.5 & 3 x $39.5 side isn't as bad as I thought.
Depending on when the WI players arrive HH , SS & ST could give us a few cheapies to play Round 1 & 2.

Any word from the Scorchers if they will sign Rocchiccioli as a replacement player for Marsh to cover Agar/Connolly short term ?
If Turner can't bowl leaves Spoors as their only slow bowling option.
Might upset Copeland even more but surely CA give the Thunder direction in selecting Konstas although if he performs in the next Shield game he may very well be in the Test Squad.

Greetings esteemed colleagues, it is a privilege to share another BBL season with this most erudite and knowledgeable group and it is always much appreciated.
As usual I present to you for your amazement and wonderment, or alternatively scorn and derision, or apathy, my current team selection.
I am assuming that Webster, Maxwell, Turner, Inglis, Sutherland etc are out for round 1 and have $265,000 left in the bank to allow me to bring them in if they become available or alternatively to use to bring Short in to Round 2 if that seems the go or bring in other players in Round 2 without stress.
Last year the Stars had a great fixture like this year however going heavy on the doubles because of their fixture was a trap which Gumwah does not wish to repeat this year, particularly if Maxwell and Webster are out for the first round.
This team selection allows for 7 players on the double in Round 1 and already contains 6 players on the double in rounds 2-4 so with three transfers in each there would be 9 DGR players in those three rounds with the two boosts still remaining. I’d rather have more DGR players in these rounds than in Round 1 when there is not as much choice. Salzmann comes in for looping if necessary at the expense of someone like Mack Harvey.
I have mostly picked players with very good recent performance like Johnson, Stoinis and Zampa who are well priced, or players like Renshaw, McKenzie and Bazley who are cheap with the potential of good price gains or who like Curran and Thornton have great roles.
