Alright it's time to put a team together
Each season someone posts an excel table of teams - byes - double games.

Does this visual gift exist already by any chance?

Fingers 🤞 in hope and thanks

Threw a team together when SC opened a few months ago then watched over half my initial squad became unavailable.
Had a serious look at my team last night. Read the last 20 or so pages in this thread, and had a look at a couple of podcasts to settle with this squad.

T Seifert. (J Doran.)

M Short, J Overton, T Curran, J Brown, M Stoinis. (M Renshaw, S Konstas.)

B Webster, J Edwards, C Connolly, H Khan, A Zampa. (H Thornton, J Buckingham.)

H McKenzie.

Gives me 8 players on the double for round 1, and possibly 5 for round 2.
Biggest decision was to start Short or bet against him. He was a non starter for me last season then unleashed that 270 early and it was season over.
Still not keen to start Zampa with memories from last season but the first up double helps. Wanted O'Neill but funds wouldn't allow it.

QUESTION - When our Stars VC player fails tomorrow night, which Gades player do we give the C duties to, and what's the minimum VC score we take ?

Best of luck to all. Looking forward to the upcoming rollercoaster ahead.

Caught up on all the news last couple of days, ahead of a busy weekend. Will get a look at mobile tomorrow to see any news in lead up to first game, but have put together what I believe is reasonable solid to start with, with a plan for Rd's 2 and beyond.

9 Dbl's this week, with the plan to move at least 2 Renegades next week, plus Clarke.

If Webster isn't released, I will downgrade to Curran. If that happens, then I will upgrade Paris to Steketee.

Bring it on!!

Fabian Allen or Connolly? Exact same price. Doubles in round 2
Connolly for me, Hardie out and Agar (/Turner) under clouds.

I was keen on Fabian but when asked about him, I recall that the initial comment from his captain (or maybe coach) that he was multifaceted and a great fielder. It seemed to be intended as a positive comment, but it made me wonder if he may have a boys and pieces role, rather than a primary one.

Both may be the right call if his role is solid.

Looks great.

Personally I see Curran as a must have - could be one of the best players in the comp, has two early doubles, is playing in a weakened team (improving his role) and is the main VC candidate. Maybe he comes in for a Striker or similar?

Also, I thought Paris to Stek was an upgrade, but that may not prove to be the case. Paris has injury history but offers left arm variety. Stek bowled little on the practice match - it may be load management/giving others a go, or it may indicate his position in the squad and risk of rotation.

I’m a lot more keen on Allen than most. Looking at the teams he was involved in, particularly for WI they were bowling up to 7 or 8 different guys so he wasn’t getting his full allocation of overs.

I can understand the hesitance with the pick but I’m expecting the role to be better at the Strikers.

Good insight, thank you! I will keep this in mind.

Bowled with the new ball in the past for WI. Don’t be surprised if Short loses that role he’s had the past couple seasons while Allen is playing.

Thanks for the feedback. Sket is slightly higher in price and I don't have the funds for him atm. If Webster isn't released I will definitely go for him after changing to Curran.

I have room for 1 heat/sixers player in any pos, are there any must have values to start in these teams or is it ok to wait until r3 to get them in?

Not sure if they’re must haves, but I’ve got Wildermuth, Edwards and Abbott. The former’s JS and role have just improved with Neser’s injury update and Johnson out. Nice bench cheapie.
