Sutherland and Connolly with awful leadup to the bbl because of injuries. Both pretty much ton up. Throw the form guide out the window lads, not worth trying to use logic here.

Edit: a special shoutout to Zampa, I was adamant I wouldn’t start you, and then grabbed you last minute because of cash. Matt Short better be worth it next round!

4/740 Curran (from 12 SI)

Had a lot of last minute 50/50 decisions tonight. Seifert over Philippe a win. Edwards over Sutherland a loss as he's still got a game in hand. Abbott over O'Neill a win for now but the latter with a game to come. Rogers underwhelming & Zampa continues to disappoint again.

Either 2/576 (Rogers) or 3/651 if I bank Edwards 75.

Thinking at this early point of the season I will bank the points from Edwards. There’ll be some double players who won’t get close to that. Considering I haven’t nailed my captain, I’m thankful to still be within touch of a lot of the teams who have locked in Curran.

Double: M Stoinis, T Curran (C), B Webster, H McKenzie, A Zampa, T Rogers, J Brown and T Seifert/W Sutherland
Single: J Richardson, C Overton, J Edwards and S Abbott

Selected Tye over Connolly as I wanted to wait a round on Scorchers batters and wanted to start at least two Scorchers bowlers. Behrendorff likely to make it three next round. McKenzie over Milne was a tough decision for the second Stars bowling avenue behind Curran with not much lost yet. Harper with the E and the decision to make as whether to change Sutherland to Seifert or switch Edwards to Sutherland allowing both Seifert and Sutherland but would prefer not to have five Renegades and only one Sixer.

Edwards and Abbott excellent on a single. Hopefully Overton joins suit as the last remaining player left on a single. Great start from Seifert and Sutherland to compensate for Rogers and Zampa.

4/811 (Curran VC)

Big tick to my four single game players so far (Abbott, Edwards, Connolly & Jhye). Hopefully Overton follows suit tomorrow!

I will say the flex position has made the lower scores easier to stomach knowing one will drop off. Fortunately Zampa and O’Neill have the chance to redeem themselves on Thursday.

3/531 Curran, 7SI

Richardson 103
Connolly E 102
Curran VC 100x2
Behrendorff 78
Stoinis 37
McKenzie 11

Not taking the emergency scores of Tye (34) or Harper (11+ game to play).

Richardson, Connolly and Curran all excellent with tons. Behrendorff also very good, a maiden! Stoinis with a what could’ve been score, as usual for him. McKenzie bowled alright, just got on the receiving end of a couple of release shots from Connolly and Hobson’s finishing touches.

After team sheets and other news I went Webster down to Harper, Hassan Khan to Behrendorff, and Overton up to Short. Didn’t love the Harper pick whatsoever but had to take a punt batting 3 at 58k and with Peirson to swing back to WK1 if required.

Very happy with the start. Looking at 6 doubles this round, would’ve been 7 if Harper was taken. Every chance something pops up between now and the Renegades game causing a restructure.
4/752

Sutherland 99
Edwards 75
Rogers 39
Zampa 8

Sutherland awesome. Role doesn’t look great, didn’t bowl until the 12th, but he made the most of it. May get better on a more pace friendly pitch? Edwards a near perfect role. Will be interesting to see how they replace Hughes. I’m expecting Patterson to slot into number 3 and Edwards to go back to 6, but hoping Edwards stays at 3 obviously. Rogers respectable. Zampa with his typical BBL return. Most own him luckily.

With Buckingham not playing I have gone up to Renshaw via Fabian Allen, and downgraded Short to Overton. 77k spare gives me some flexibility and able to get up to Short next round if necessary.

Overton, Peirson, Curran C, Stoinis, McKenzie, Sutherland, Rogers, and Zampa to come. One of McKenzie, Zampa or Peirson likely to be the 12th highest score it appears.

Throw the form guide out the window lads, not worth trying to use logic here.!
Given the fickle nature of the format and the quality (either in relation to opposition or teammates) relative to the other international competitions along with the differing tactics in each format (T20, One Day, Test, Shield, etc), differences in roles in different setups, I feel it is best not to place too much emphasis on incoming form since it is not transferrable.

One loose delivery for a good shot could change fortunes very quickly for a batter and vice versa for a bowler. If we try hard enough when conducting due diligence in the preseason, we can create a case to select everyone and it can be applicable to most fantasy formats.
