For me, I only have Peirson, so hoping he keeps his spot. Have Abbott also, but that's a waste, so I will have to wait and see, but for me the priorities will be Edwards, Johnson, Munro and Walter.
No Hosein 😱 or Maxwell 😱 in your plans ?

Yes sadly I will have to trade Abbott out today.

I think there was something posted (a tweet or article) that indicated the players were free to play Saturday and Sunday before linking up with the test team. My take is they wouldn’t want him to play 2 games in 2 days, but with the game on the 23rd anything is possible.
I would say the most likely outcome is 1 game, but if they decide on Monday he won’t be playing they may let him play.

I was going from your list of BH and SS, and they're my priorities, so no Maxwell on that list, and I see more value in Edwards and the other Heat players.
I already own Edwards so be interesting if they keep him @ 3 or bring KP in.

Wondering who benefits most with Abbott expected to miss Round 3 , that side is so flexible though it could be any number of players in different roles in different matches , Shipperd loves his All Rounders

I have Hosein as the # 1 priority target for the Round but that might be me.

Hopefully I can get all 3 of Bartlett , Hosein & Maxwell in but might need to get creative with McKenzie (if he misses again) , otherwise I will get stuck fielding Boyce on a single.

I know he's back with Australia but do we know he's not available on the 23rd.
Nothing official yet.

What we know is he is available to play today , as he flew to Hobart I expect him to be in the starting XI today

As a owner I will then just hope he does get clearance to play the game in Melbourne on Monday

Maybe a little counterintuitive initially, but something did just occur to me:

If most Scorchers quicks are always going to be at risk of being rotated, and they’re about to potentially lose one rotation by Jhye going to the Test squad …

… is it possible they play him as much as they can while they can, and consider resting someone else?

Unless their is a injury between now and the start of the Test then surely it's Boland , Cummins and Starc playing ?

So what's the point of both Abbott & Richardson being there unless 1 of them will play in Sydney (for Boland) and they are not sure which one it will be.

Would 4 overs on Monday be that detrimental to Richardson ? 🤔

If anyone needs a somewhat cheaper option, if Perth bat first, Agar may be worth a look.

Takes as many wickets per innings as Dorf and Tye in that scenario, scores more runs, and is cheaper. He also has better matchups based on history.

I will likely still go Dorf punting on a death overs role, but am slightly tempted.

Dwarshuis is one name I haven’t seen pop up who I think could go really well next round at a good price point.

Likes the Hurricanes to from memory and Bellerive (can't confirm as I lost my SC Plus access)

I remember looking at him v Behrendorff and Agar was a lot more favourable.

Probably would need to look at their records v MR and @ Marvel though as well to be fair

Agar is Bowl only , that surprised me when the game opened

Jhye is on record again just recently saying that he would really love to play Test cricket again and now here is his chance, albeit a longshot.
I would think Jhye himself would not want to risk that in any way at this late stage so will the Scorchers try and accommodate his wishes, they have the depth.
TBH I'm surprised Jhye wants to play any game at all this round while there is a Test chance.

Interesting, thanks - that does reduce his appeal slightly (albeit his main competitors are also bowl only - easing pressure on that line is helpful).
Got me curious , had him in my preseason thoughts

Thoughts on Agar v Connolly 🤔

Was that the CricInfo one ?

I know they have been managing his workload but fingers crossed he is 100% right if he does happen to get to play the Sydney Test , awesome bowler.

If not (and they don't take him to Sri Lanka to make Dilmah Tea all tour) they select him for the Australia A v England Lions 4 day match.

Unless he is line for Champions Trophy Squad

"Test cricket is obviously the goal," Richardson said. "I'd love to play Test cricket again. I think it's difficult having had a taste of it and then having that sort of ripped away.

"I think it's nice to have goals, but I'm obviously not there at the moment, so it would be unrealistic for me to think about international cricket. What's realistic is what's in front of me right now, and that's playing Big Bash cricket and domestic cricket for WA.

"But I'm hoping to get back there."

Be interesting to see what combos people can get.

3 x $ 150k Scorchers isn't getting all 3 of Bartlett , Hosein & Maxwell (without a reasonable Bank) so which one do you sacrifice ?

Start going to next tier down

Who are the "must haves ?" , I guess so many different options

Do we have to use a boost to free up cash from the Big 2 AS & MR players.

Then Boost again Round 4 to get them back in ?

Who knows if the Strikers will have a OSR for Allen by then who might be a must have as well.
Bartlett with games at Optus and Perth looks juicy, although playing Perth and the Sixers are two of the tougher matchups.

Maxwell has a tough matchup against the 6ers in Sydney and then the Thunder in Canberra.

Hosein against the Stars at the SCG and Heat in Brisbane.

Yeah I want them all... And it's not just the the big 3 that you want to get in. Potentially Edwards / Abbott / Phillippe / Tall Paul / plus any number of podish options.
