Funnily I actually felt emboldened to take him because the prevailing mood was in the other direction. It was definitely a line ball call especially without Maxwell taking a huge chunk of the budget.

Something I probably should have taken more into account is the fact that Pakistan made him look uncomfortable against express pace and his first two games were against Ferguson and Milne (although I don't think Milne was signed when I made my decision).

Hasn’t been my experience. I was set on not starting him or bringing him in and got feedback about both options, general consensus was it could go either way. $300k was a lot to pay for any player but he was a monster last season. Of course i inevitably blew up my team and got him in before round 1 and it hasn’t worked out and I’m having a shocker of a season.
