Geez it’s a special level of disaster when for all the planning and trades, you end up with 4 Scorchers/Strikers that play either 1 or 0 games on their double. Sometimes you just gotta sit back and say damn.. couldn’t script this round worse between trades, teams, and captain.

So for anyone out there who is having a struggle of an a round.. you aren’t alone!! Best thing about BBL SC is that even though the pendulum can swing savagely one way, it can swing back gloriously the other way too. R3 you all better watch out 😉

@Rowsus apologies doubles partner.. you’re carrying some dead weight this round!
Not exactly knocking the ball out of the park myself this Round.

Looking at our opponents first Round teams, we might still be a small outside chance for a victory. 🤞

Like everyone had Inglis on my watch list for this Round , given all the uncertainty went Weatherald instead 😢

Add in Boyce (my own fault for picking him) going to be well behind the 8 ball (again)

Tye missing Game 1 ended up trading him out instead of Abbott so see how that pans out

Finished up with :-

Boyce
Overton (C)
Thornton
Weatherald (1 game)

Connolly
Richardson (1 game) score drops out
Turner

Need to reset and hope for a massive Round 3

Some info about Spoors btw, very interested in seeing how he goes tonight :-

Formerly a top-order batter, WA Cricket Academy member Spoors has transformed himself into an attacking leg-spinner capable of scoring quick runs in the middle-order.

The 25-year-old was dominant for Scarborough last season, sharing the 2023-24 Olly Cooley Medal with Perth veteran Jono Wells as WA Premier Cricket’s best and fairest player.

He featured prominently during the Emerging Scorchers’ maiden Top End T20 campaign in August, before impressing in several WA pre-season intrasquad games.

Spoors has also played 10 T20Is and five ODIs for Canada, where his mother was born, and hammered a T20I century against the Philippines in February 2022.

He’s bowled quite a bit this season. Seems to be more suited to the limited overs games given his figures. Could’ve been a great pick had they started the season with him.
I’m expecting him to bowl more than Connolly, especially given Connolly bowls left arm offies (the same as Agar). Spoors bowls right arm leggies. Action is very, very similar to Rashid Khan actually.
