Silly me for thinking Johnson would be a bit rusty first game back and giving him a miss.

Bartlett needs to seriously lift in the Heat’s second match of the round. Also need a lift from Walter, Stoinis and Curran. Hopefully Edwards is okay to play and bowl in the Sixers second match.

Pleasantly surprised with Murphy’s score though. Philippe and Renshaw good too.

Single gamers have been Dorff (57) and Connolly (37). Sadly traded out Agar and his 101 this round.

0/431 Walter 10SI (1 down if Edwards is out)

Johnson 148
Renshaw 66
Dwarshuis 46
Curran 39
Kerr 35
Walter C 25x2
Stoinis 24
Edwards VC 12
Peirson 11

Johnson awesome. Originally had McSweeney instead but when he was named at 5 I jumped ship. Extremely thankful for that! Renshaw great. Dwarshuis bowled average but manage to snare 2. Curran and Kerr both horrific spells but got a wicket each for an okay score. Walter’s role hurt a touch by Johnson’s return. Up on Bartlett captainers so far, but still not good obviously. Stoinis another start he didn’t go on with. Edwards getting injured as VC very annoying, especially with Walter doing poorly as captain. Hopefully gets up for game 2. Peirson barbecued for 1 stings. Got dropped on 0 though. The Heat collapsed early and with him getting 1 off 7, he may slide down. You’d assume they tweak the order a bit after that showing.

0/350 Tall Paul

Game 1: 0/241; Maxwell (v not taken), Dwarsh, Curran, Stoinis, Kerr, Edwards, Shaw (e)
Game 2: 0/109; Renshaw, Tall Paul (c), Peirson, Banton

Livid with Maxwell for getting out when it was all set up for him on a road. Decided to back in Walter when Maxwell didn't look likely to bowl much and then got hammered when he did. Those gambles never work out for me. Really only Johnson owners with a big advantage so far this round. Other big scorers (Vince, Ducket, Scorchers) won't be that popular I don't think.

462/1. Spencer C.

Flops - Allen, Lachlan shaw, stoinis. new recruit Edwards
Hits - new recruits Spencer
Decent - Curran new recruits - Dwarahuis and Kerr
single game players to come - Overton Joyce Scott Thornton.
Got lucky with Spencer - the only heat player for me. Downside - of course traded out 3 good PS players in Dorff, Tye and Connolly and retained the worst in Allen.

Would’ve been happy as a pig in proverbial had I gone Johnson over Walter, but otherwise the round is going ok. I purposely kept my team to the bare xi, so if Liam Scott plays, I’ll hopefully be able to keep touch with the majority of strong performing teams this round.

Edwards presents a problem with a potential groin strain. May need to be traded next round.

Now I've heard groin, tight hammy and side strain for Edwards o_O

Can't be bad because he kept going back on field and they said he would bat if needed down the order.
Ignore me, I was remembering what Cartwright was saying on field to the comms and forgot they said it was a groin on the coverage. I’ll edit my post to fix that.

So the original plan was to VC Dwarshuis. If I had a playable VC, I would trade in Renshaw and McSweeney, and hold Sutherland for next round.

Instead with Patterson still being snubbed (!), I made the no brainer decision to VC Edwards, who bowls one over, doesn't bat, and might even miss the next game. Then give up McSweeney for Bartlett for a safe captain, forcing me to use Sutherland's cash and giving me one less double for next round, all to get a captain score of... 9.

So in short, to this stage I've lost 67 points and a future SI with this decision - which once again comes back to Kurtis Patterson. He is now sitting at Bat7, where if he does play on Sunday I can't even get his score. (Although I'm happy with Turner's 57 in any case.)

Wasn't looking at Johnson at all though so can't be upset about that.
