Thornton drops out, probably 3 fa with Edwards?
Lucky to hold short in the end, Connolly E just not enough pts, costs me a few gades and hold Bazley who seems unplayable
Game 1: 0/241; Maxwell (v not taken), Dwarsh, Curran, Stoinis, Kerr, Edwards, Shaw (e)
Game 2: 0/109; Renshaw, Walter (c), Peirson, Banton
Game 3: 1/131; Overton, Thornton (excluded), Bazley (bench)
Overton outstanding but everybody has him except for one of my league opponents who has him as (C)…
M Short & Overton revived the team after yesterday’s poor start, bringing it up to a more respectable 54.5 PSI. Thornton disappointing, but has dropped out.
2/433 Bartlett (12 SI @ 36.08), Thornton dropping out
I know it’s early and we pick doubles for a reason but these trades might haunt me for the rest of the year. 10SI to go so hopefully can resurrect something this round.
Pretty much on 7/553, assuming Edwards misses. Overton as C with nearly half that score being the only highlight. Dwarshuis, Banton, Curran and Stoinis to come.
2/712 (Maxwell) - Thornton carrying the drinks for the round
12 SI (59 average) - 59 PSI is bang on my season average to date
Decided to bypass Owen in the end, opting for a Renegades instead (and taking Connolly's score so +9) to increase numbers for next round.
I will be a much more relieved coach come the end of this round as Short will grace my team for the first time this season. I've been lucky that he hasn't gone off yet and killed my season, also the fact that Overton has more than matched him to date has softened the blow as a non-owner of Short.
Johnson 148
Renshaw 66
Dwarshuis 46
Curran 39
Kerr 35
Walter C 25x2
Stoinis 24
Edwards VC 12
Peirson 11
Johnson awesome. Originally had McSweeney instead but when he was named at 5 I jumped ship. Extremely thankful for that! Renshaw great. Dwarshuis bowled average but manage to snare 2. Curran and Kerr both horrific spells but got a wicket each for an okay score. Walter’s role hurt a touch by Johnson’s return. Up on Bartlett captainers so far, but still not good obviously. Stoinis another start he didn’t go on with. Edwards getting injured as VC very annoying, especially with Walter doing poorly as captain. Hopefully gets up for game 2. Peirson barbecued for 1 stings. Got dropped on 0 though. The Heat collapsed early and with him getting 1 off 7, he may slide down. You’d assume they tweak the order a bit after that showing.
Overton excellent once again. Short finally came off with the bat. Shame Ellis caught a screamer to get him out, was still ~90 runs to chase. Still not convinced he’s back just yet, lots of heart in mouth stuff. Didn’t time it as well as he usually does, even a couple of his sixes didn’t look like they connected all that well. Bowling role not good today. Looks as though they have the 4 specialists than Scott or Short is used more depending on how the pitch is playing. Adelaide and Marvel next. Can see me potentially captaining Overton next round over him. I’ll worry about that later.
Rowsus: 3/652 - Walter - 12 SI = 54/SI (37/SI without Thornton/Johnson )
Assuming Edwards is cooked. Thornton 4 dropped out. Thank goodness for Johnson and Overton!!!!
3/666 (Maxwell). Short and Overton great last night. Bazley drops out so I am 4fa if Edwards doesn't back up. Trading in Edwards ahead of Johnson the only big mistake so far this round.
3/505 Maxwell, probably 4 players down with Edwards.
Yesterday wasn’t overly kind with my bare 11 players, 3 single players combining for 161 (Overton 131 of those). Hoping the stars game tonight turns it around. Looking at a reasonable rankings hit, so am hoping Maxwell can go large to mitigate this damage.
3/572 (Walter) or 4/572 if Edwards doesn't get up.
A much better night than yesterday with Short & Overton getting 100+ scores but disappointing on the other end with Thornton basically becoming my 12th man by getting a 4. Skipped Maxwell in order to keep Short which is looking good atm but will have to wait and see how it pans out tmr.
