I think the feeling was it skewed things too far in favour of all rounders and bowlers as they could get too many easy batting points. So I think the thinking was to align batting points with needing to bat well, not just hit a few quick boundaries.

Yeah I definitely reckon they got it wrong. If anything they’ve made it harder for batters because they have to do decently to get points, where as a bowler can bowl 23 trash deliveries and then get a junk wicket and they’ll outscore a guy who made 19 off 10.
