Scored 1,158 in the end which saw me jump from 316th to 12th overall. Trades made last week were Connolly, Dorff, Morris and J.Richardson -> Maxwell, Dwarsh, S.Johnson & McSweeney. Lucked out with Johnson captain after Edwards failed and owning only 2 other heat options who were both middle order batters. Also lucked out getting Phillipe last week over Dwarsh. If i had of got Dwarshius last round then i wouldn't have traded Phillipe in this week with far more attractive double options. Was worried fading Bartlett, Hosein and Walter but going the cheaper guys paid off in the end.

Can afford my ideal trades by exactly $0 this week, phewww. Glad picking McSweeney with a low breakeven despite thinking his last score was an outlier paid off. Maxwell, Dwarsh & McSweeney to M.Short, Rogers & O'Neill. Leaves my team like the below. 8 dgw guys, praying Doggett plays to get that up to 9. Will keep Curran as a loop for the week and look to offload next round. If Edwards misses again i'll likely trade McSweeney back in.

WKP - Seifert (Doran)

BAT - M.Short, Overton, Sutherland, J.Edwards, Phillipe (Renshaw, Harper)

BWL - T.Rogers, S.Johnson, O'Neill, Stoinis, Zampa (Curran, Doggett)

FLEX - Thornton
Nice work...and good luck in getting top spot....

Who are you targeting from the Thunder for DGR 6 ?

How much Bank will you need to get those preferred targets ?

Ideally from Round 5 onwards everyone probably will need 5-6 SGR premiums so be able to hold the likes of Overton (until he leaves , Round 6 Bye) , Philippe , Rogers , Seifert , Short (Round 6 Bye) , Sutherland etc

Bazley , Boyce , Thornton might be problems after this round trying to move on without enough Bank

Strikers with the Bye in Round 6 + Doran , Whitney & Wood
Thanks for that, you make some good points re; forward planning. I've boosted to move on Boyce early (or maybe Bazley?) for McGurk which leaves me with 6 Adelaide but still have 12 DGRs this round. Switched from trading out Renshaw to Wood which leaves me only 2 bench doughnuts in Doran & Whitney. 6 trades should be enough to trade out the Strikers I that don't want for the Thunder I do want. Obviously there will be a downgrade in there somewhere. Still have 20k bank after those changes. I do like having a loop on each line available.

Probably lining up something like this, leaves exactly 0$ in the bank so maybe it's meant to be
Bartlett -> Short
Hosein -> Sutherland
Walter/Edwards -> Doggett

If Doggett isn't named I'll pivot to a future cheap double player. Sutherland for 200k also feels pretty wrong, especially with some of the guys I'm trading him for essentially have the same role. Going to hold Curran for a week as he won't lose cash.

Finished with 940 which was better than I was expecting given my start to the round so I'll take it. Was able to hold Seifert, Sutherland and Overton which will help for this week.

Trades currently looking like:
Out: Maxwell, Curran, Edwards
In: M Short, Rogers, sub 115k player (think I'll take a punt on JFM)

Thought about going Richardson for the last cheap trade in, but not sure that I want 4 bowlers from one team.

Need to play 3 of Philippe, Owen, Renshaw, Dwarshuis, Walter and Stoinis. Happy to leave Renshaw out batting at 5 and Walter just hasn't looked great despite having a good role. Dwarshuis is the highest averaging, but I'm not sure if the ground will suit the bowlers, so I might swap Owen with him.

For VC, Sutherland is the obvious choice but I think Rogers could be a good option at Showgrounds and Marvel. C undecided between Short and Overton but leaning Overton at the moment who is averaging around 100 this season. Short only bowled the one over last game, but showed more signs of life with the bat.

Have Zampa and L Scott in my team already for the DGR but now thinking it would be a mistake to put either onfield. My only donut is Konstas (other than Doran for VC loop) who plays the first game so no effective loop.

Anyone putting either of these guys onfield?
I am.putting Zampa.on field. For a bowler you know will get the full 4 overs both games, it is worth it imo. Only takes 1 wicket in each game to get past a par score.

Both JFM & Richardson are great options - I'm leaning Richardson (POD) as I think most will be on JFM

967 (Phillipe) Moved up the ranks from 6.5k to 3.6k totally unexpected with only 3 DGR players with a 4, 2 & 1 from three of my Stikers 2 of those scores counting. I'll hold Phillipe on the bench in appreciation for producing 40% of my teams score. Don't think I've ever been so stoked with a top 8% round rank haha

12 DGRs for Rd4 with last boost still in hand. 74k bank available to switch Richardson trade in to O'Neill, is he worth the extra coin? Or Perhaps upgrade Bazley to McGurk?

I’m guessing you’ve used some (maybe all) of those three trades to get up to 12 doubles, which is an amazing number but potentially a bit of a waste … you know for sure that one of them won’t be fielded.

Could you reverse one of those trades and get in a Thunder or Hurricane player for a future double? Or someone with a really low BE for cash gen (Billings ticks both boxes)? Or an all rounder with a superior role now that the singles are coming up?

The above looks awesome this round, but I’m not sure you will want 12 Renegades and Strikers once this round ends.

I may not have a donut this round due to Salzmann's Thunder playing in the first game.

Is Edwards would likely to take Shaw's spot if available? Or Kerr's?

One thing I’ve noticed - admittedly somewhat based on other forums - is that a lot of people are trading out a lot of all rounders.

I recognize that there are specific reasons to trade some of them, but I found it notable, partly because it’s the exact opposite of what I have been trying to do!

Depends if you mean those with DPP, or those that are actually playing an all rounder role. A lot of those with DPP are batting low and not bowling (such as Bazley). Probably not worth keeping them.

I own Bazley, but is he even worth fielding? Could easily get two single digit scores. SGR players are Phillipe, Walter, Connolly, Stoinis, Dwarshuis. Not sure I’d field him over any of those
Im probably trading him down to get a loop, wouldn't field him over any of my guys on a single so just feels like a waste of a spot.

I regret moving on Connolly in Rd3 but it did facilitate 2 trades. Plan on bringing him back in Rd5 for a Striker.

I agree with that … I’m not targeting the Bazleys of the world!

I am somewhat unexpectedly bringing in Scott, but that’s because he’s only slightly dearer than Manenti (a potential FD target), has the double and seems to have an okay role. If he got dropped next round I’d have an FD with the same draw at a slightly dearer price.

Not sure if others are in similar positions but to get the expensive gades/strikers I am needing to trade out a few of these guys - or bowlers with good roles.

Have the option of ditching less quality options but means missing someone like chief.
