I'm in the 14% who don't own Short in that bottom table. I don't think there's a couch big enough for me to hide behind tonight unfortunately - think he's due for a big score, but decided I'd be better off overall picking up a couple of Thunder players cheaper now (Agar and Billings) compared to Short and another donut, especially as I have most other Strikers already (8, and I know most are duds). Doubt I'll come out ahead this round, but hoping to across rounds 4-6. Happy enough with how the two Thunder players went this round anyway, was only a Chief worldie that prevented it from being even better.
So about $ 440k next week for Agar , Billings & Warner.
Boyce , Thornton , Weatherald are currently about $ 120k short of that , will need some monster DGR scores if they even all play both games.
Hoping the Strikers XI falls my way tonight (but don't think it will)
Might need to rethink bringing in M Short 🤔
Then $ 310k * for Ferguson (pending availability) & Sams for Round 6

I was quietly hoping that they pulled their Squad of their socials because Short got a phone call to pack his bags and head to Sydney 😀 (wishful thinking I know)
I have a major cash problem this round.
I need Scott to be named if I want to get M Short , if not could go down to Manenti and then rely on Stoinis score.
Doubt Weatherald gets named and with the Strikers currently 1-3 I expect Boyce could miss.
Do they trust their preseason planning or change it up.
If I don't get Short this round I probably won't get him all season so then probably need to look at alternative captain options for Round 5 , 7 & 9.
But is their another 2 Strikers that could give me similar output on the DGR (already have Boyce , Overton , Thornton & Weatherald)
Currently I am 679 points behind the leader , so I certainly won't be winning the competition if I just bring in the same players as those above me.
I expect after this round the Top 5 % teams will be very similar in players and following the same direction Round 5 to 8.

Can't see them dropping Bazley/Boyce/Scott for a extra bat
Bazley is playing the role they got Allen for (power hitting at the end) just without the bowling.
Think Boyce and/or Scott are the vulnerable ones to lose their spot tonight

Yeah a couple of ways you could play it going forward... Have a similar team and go down the POD captain route or have a POD team and go down a similar captain route, or POD team/POD captain.
With best 12 I think you can afford a POD or two and have their score drop off if they fail.
Strikers are an interesting one... Season almost at a crossroads today, so will be interesting to see if they change things up.

Eagerly awaiting to see their XI tonight and try and get a idea about how Paine thinks , 1-3 lose tonight it could be bye bye
Just need to work out the numbers going forward and see what is hopefully the best option and be flexible enough to change it if necessary.
Just own my decisions whether they are good (or bad)
Sutherland (VC) wasn't enough last night , so regardless whether I bring in Short or not Overton will be captain

I think Scott for a Doggett type is the most likely, but doesn't make a lot of sense for a guy they seem to have invested plenty in. But they might just decide it's a year or two early and pull the plug.
Bazeley not doing much, but he's not really the problem. Lynn's not really scoring runs which is hurting them and Short Matt has had one decent knock.

I can't even remember Doggett as a T20 bowler , looking on Big Bash Board a Michelle long time ago + 2 4fa's and a 3fa along the way.
Did have a chuckle though when people were posting that as he was in the Test Squad he should be a automatic selection in T20 😀
I still think they are giving Scott the death role for when Overton leaves (could be completely wrong on that)

Not sure what has happened with Buckingham , although maybe they see him more of a red ball bowler.
Still find it completely bizarre that they can't find one single OS player to replace Allen , something definitely not right when players are not even coming down for a short term stint before SA 20 & ILT 20 starts , although that cost them last season when their OS left during the finals.
