Any news on whether any of the Test players will be released for round 6?
3 (Khawaja , Konstas , Labuschagne) out of 10 have been ruled out for tonight's game based on released Squads

hopefully get Scorchers and Renegades Squads before the Round starts so that takes into account another 3 (Lyon , Marsh , Richardson)

Konstas probably plays Wednesday night but will lock out tonight

So then wait for news on whether Abbott , Boland (can't imagine him playing) , Smith & Webster are available Thursday night

Strikers (Carey & Head) have the Round 6 Bye

Up to 5th overall.

Allen and new trade in MorrisPOD the standouts (just wish I went through with the VC). Was hoping to get another Jhyeless game out of Morris, but with the test finishing early, I imagine he'll be back.

Biggest question for me, is how heavy to go on the Thunder. Weakened team, rain around, but on the double. Seriously considering what could be a season defining move and fading them!
Well done!

I think for me a lot depends on how the Thunder line up. A weakened team could mean they have fewer attractive options, or could give greater opportunity to an otherwise fringe or unattractive selection.

I'm very intrigued to see how they line-up tonight. It will probably directly dictate one of my trades this round.

They have quite a few cheap options, sub-80k. Gilkes, Andrews, Hatcher, Christian, Rutherford, Davies off the top of my head. Lots of moving pieces and the impending threat of weather on Wednesday. Can't even bring in a Hurricane to prepare for the round 8 double because they're in the same game :censored:

Thanks!

I think we know how they're going to line up tonight, which is what gives me pause. If they bowl first, I might be a little more comfortable, but if they bat first I'd be worried about the possibility of them knocked over cheaply.

The come Wednesday, they're back at the Showground which will have been under covers for a day or so and it's not conducive to batting at the best of times. Probably the only in will be Konstas, although I guess there's potential Tanveer Sangha / McAndrew come in (I don't really know how recoveries are going).

If I was 500 places back, it's the kind of all or nothing move that I'd be way more comfortable doing it. 5 places back, I feel like I should be a little more measured and let other people make crazy moves to try and catch up.

All this makes a lot of sense, so can see why you are sitting where you are!

Captaincy could well be the biggest shake up this round as logic says you will want a Thunder VC to lock in, but you'll definitely want a Star or Sixer fall back if they have some tough games on the double!

Stayed with 2 Thunder players in the end. Avoided Sams as I wanted to wait until next round and due to his poor record against/at Perth. Grabbed one batter in Warner and the bowler was between Green, Ferguson and Agar. Opted for the lower breakeven in Agar and placed Green in the Sams boat as waiting for next round. No change to planned trades yet and will likely stick with Stoinis returning. Seifert and Doran have switched spots with Harper moved onfield so that I can have 12 scoring players with the E placed on Zampa to cover Edwards.

3/105
Played: W Agar, D Warner and A Tye (VC)
Yet to play: T Seifert, W Sutherland, A Zampa, T Rogers, S Harper, M Stoinis, C Lynn, J Overton (C) and H Thornton
Solid in the end considering the washout and a few low scores.

Yeah, throw in there isn't really a stand out captain choice for the Thunder and it makes things interesting.

Think it comes down to how much you rate the Thunder assets, personally I'm not crazy on them as a side with everything going right let alone with a weather cloud, lot of pretty average cricketers that have out performed their ability to date if I be brutally honest, could be a good opportunity to pivot, particularly if they bat first up against a pretty solid Heat attack tonight.
