First one.

Webster you know gets a hit, may potentially bowl and definitely misses next game.
Zampa not the best but scored 34 and 60 in his two Marvel games (2/3 finish there)

Neser has a decent bowling role and can hit late but may not face many. Also potential for rain affected game next GW.
Buckingham does he hold his spot if he even plays?
The first option looks quite a bit better imo.
Thanks both.

How about thoughts on this combo?
Dorf + Neser + Webster
Vs
Kerr + Overton + one of (Webster/Neser)

(In the first one Kerr would be traded out, in the second one Dorf would be traded out)

Option 1. Overton could leave early if season ends tonight

All three I'd be comfortable fielding. Overton does have a high VC/C ceiling if you need it.

I was wondering if they’d bring Hassan Khan back, assuming he’s available.

Fairly like for like with Evans and offers another bowling option.
Hassan has a ILT 20 contract

ILT 20 has 6 teams , 9 OS per playing XI + numerous more in Squads

SA 20 has 6 teams , 4 OS in the starting XI + 3-4 extras in the Squad

BPL is on

NZ v SL white ball series about to finish

PAK v WI Test series due to start

Won't get the Indians

Won't get the contracted Kiwis & South African's

Where is everyone else and why don't they want to come here and play ?

Good ones don't even nominate for the Draft

Something must be wrong

Do they lose to much money in tax ? 🤔

Not enough cash being splashed mate. Will never get the sort of guys we want without bigger budgets.

Guys who we gave opportunities to we don’t see anymore unfortunately. Though that could be with the way they’re managed rather than amount being paid.

$ 200,000.00 k to $ 400,000.00 k for 10 matches is a reasonable return (probably not even performance based , if it was many would be paying back a lot when they leave)

How much of that gets taxed though ?

You would think some of our high profile domestic players would be getting close to the top bands as well.

I doubt they are paying anything for accommodation , bring the partner/family out I guess clubs are paying for them.

Season is still to long though even after they have reduced the amount of games.

Doubt they reduce it even more to a 7 game season per team.

Wonder how long before they relent and get private ownership involved.

Can't get the high quality OS players , can't get our own stars to play more than 1-3 games if they even sign or are released to play.

Yet the other night they were saying attendances and TV viewership is up.

Gotta look beyond the money as well. The Gayle incident, Afghani players ending their involvement due to political stances taken by CA. The distance from their homes another factor. Media being pretty unforgiving.

There’s plenty of factors that don’t make us that drawcard we may think we are. For those guys trying to make a name for themselves, it’s the perfect competition as it opens up your opportunities if you’re semi successful.

For guys that are well established, it’s a big commitment over the Xmas holidays to come out and play during a busy schedule.

Unfortunately the way that our competition aligns with the rest of the world doesn’t help us, but it makes sense to have the BBL run when it does for local fans/players.

I've been saying for a while that the BBL should really lean into this development angle. In the same way that, for example, the A-League has really accepted that they're not going to draw great players in any large numbers, and explicitly positioned itself as a development league.

All things considered, you're probably not getting a hugely different level of performance from young, exciting players on the up versus a "big name" in the middle of a gruelling season.

Hell, then it probably doesn't even matter as much that the Tests overlap...

Think we almost need to become a southern hemisphere league but with SA having their own league now (backed by India no less) that ship has well and truly sailed.

Nothing stopping us from combining with NZ though. Would love to see it scheduled before our summer starts personally (September-October), but I doubt that would ever happen.

All extremely valid points

I agree CA/commentators think it is more attractive to come here and play than what it probably is

Certainly don't think CA thought SA 20 would come along and be as strong as it already is.

Massive fallout with the WI white ball guns for hire.

Stay home for Christmas then go to SA 20 / ILT 20 to play for more dollars.

Certainly was expecting more USA player involvement (Gous & Netravalkar especially) given Cricket NSW & Cricket Victoria involvement in The MLC and then team Victoria in the Global 20.

Remember when I was in New Zealand in 2005 taking to Martin Crowe and how he suggested NZ have a North & South Island team in Australia domestic cricket.

Might have been Cairns or Fleming that were in agreeance.

Pity the BBL didn't adopt that 6 teams + NZ + Hong Kong & PNG.

Probably kills their Super Smash but we can then send development players over their to play.

CA completely missed the mark years ago to get BCCI involvement and let the Indian players play BBL.

BBL in November (clear window) then go back to the old Test schedule with the Australian Day Test in Adelaide.

Geez I am getting old , NZ cricket tour in 2005 with Merv Hughes as host

Take Chaud 55 or Field Dwarshuis?
Bank the 55 and trade Dwarshuis if possible. Although I am biased as I usually do not treat Dwarshuis as an option outside of doubles given the batting cameos are too few and far between due to the strength of the lineup and Sydney historically the only competent side other than Perth. Prefer to switch to someone with a greater dual role.
