Barkley sure had a good time playing the Rams this year.
Today: 26 -205 - 2 TDs
25 November: 26 - 255 - 2 TDs

I think that Buffalo are doing amazingly well.
Well, Josh Allen is doing amazingly well.

Last week-end there were some controversial ref calls on QB hits.
The first two were roughing the passer calls against Houston defenders for "hits" on Mahomes.
The first, a 3rd and 8 with 7 min left in the 1st qtr: Mahomes is just about to be hit when he releases the ball, the defender sees he has released the ball and appears to do his best to pull up and not carry through with the hit but his momentum carries him into Mahomes; the contact, as best I can tell, is to Mahomes shoulder; Mahomes falls to the ground due more, I think, to being unbalanced than to the force of the hit.
A roughing the passer penalty.
The second, a 1st and 10 with 1..52 left in the 3rd: Mahomes is scrambling downfield - past the line of scrimmage and not trying to run out of bounds so he is regarded as an ordinary ball carrier - and slides to the ground just before two defenders converge on him; the defenders barely touch Mahomes but do collide with each other above Mahomes.
An unnecessary roughness penalty.
Now:
The first call might have been warranted by the ref not having a clear view of the hit but I think it is clear that the defender is doing his best to minimize contact.
The second call makes no sense to me. Mahomes wasn't protected by the protect the QB rules and it looks just like any other RB play. More to the point, he was barely touched by the defenders.

The third incident involved Goff.
It's a 2nd and 14 with 5.25 left in the 2nd: Goff throws an interception which is returned for a TD; Goff moves to prevent the TD but is hit by Washington blocker; the hit is an upward one by the helmet to Goff's chin - or that is what it looks like to me; Goff misses the next Detroit drive.
Now:
As far as I know Goff was still protectected by the protect the QB rules. The helmet to head hit was obvious but no unnecessary roughness call was made.
Why not?
Videos of all three incidents are on youtube and elsewhere,

Maybe I'm becoming too anti-KC but I think that if a defender had hit Mahomes like Goff was hit there would definitely have been a penalty.
I saw similar things happen during the Brady years and got very tired of it.
No denying Mahomes is, and Brady was, a great QB, but could the refereeing please be a little more impartial.
Not suggesting a deliberate Mahomes bias: more a Mahomes awareness which results in a bias.

Later:
Since I posted the above I've realized there is a lot of internet discussion of the Mahomes' calls, not so much on the Goff non-call.
There are even comments by Houston players about playing not just KC but also the ref.s
So I'd like to add: I don't think the calls cost Houston the game.
The loss had more to do with the fact that Stroud was constantly harassed - sacked 8 times, that Houston had one FG missed, another blocked, and one PAT missed.

I'm glad the Eagles won.
I thought their defence was the "MVP" - they were terrific.
Interestingly, they sacked Mahomes 6 times without blitzing once.
To keep KC to only 6 points and 200 total yards until half-way through the 4th was a great effort.

Mahomes had arguably his worst ever game.
He did come good in his last two drives when it was irrelevant: 9/10 - 56yd - TD and 1/1 - 50yd - TD.
Prior to that: 11/21 - 151yd - 0TD - 2Int.

That might be the worst QB SB performance I've ever seen from any QB by Mahomes, just a complete choke job and looked completely shook. Some epic stat padding will make it look reasonable in the history books but he was awful, I honestly can't think of anyone who was that bad, took his team out of the game with a couple of wild picks and by totally derailling their offense with his panic attacks. Choosing to not run the ball at all was also massive, it's like the Chiefs were more focused on the narrative of Mahomes leading them than winning. Even Goff didn't outright lose his team the game like Mahomes did. Big Ben the only other guy I can think of and given they won and that he was in his 2nd season I'd say it was still better.

Feel for the Chiefs defense, they were genuinely excellent and, for the first time in forever, actually on the wrong end of the refs on that side of the ball (to be fair their offense got away with about 40 holds that weren't called, the refs only called genuine tackles as holds it was that bad), they did a fantastic job of not missing tackles on Barkley and it wasn't until the game was over that they really gave anything up, especially considering how long they were on the field because of Mahomes.

Eagles DL deserved the MVP, Sweat especially for mine, but Hurts was also excellent, did what he needed to do and put the game away with a few pivotal scrambles in the 2nd half.
