Skimming through the Freo board on BF and sounds as though he played well, again.
Further to this, my mate was there

NOD was solid, he is easily best 23/ should play wing.

Reid was just sublime - ball use was excellent/ very classy. Has to play round 1 from what he saw today, blown away how great he looked.

Serong BOG - kicked 4 goals & usual excellent self around stoppages.

Brayshaw ball use really poor/ lots of turnovers.

I'm not seeing this rookie crisis at all. FWD, MID and RUCK all are very high numbers of rookies with a good mix of bench and field types as well. Probably the only negative is a couple of the bench types are premium priced in the mids.

It's more that DEF is barren at rookies which really gets exposed because DEF is also barren in the premium and midprice options

$200,600 McInnes
$190,500 Walter
$183,200 Lynch
$180,500 SPP
$166,300 Dewar?
$158,600 Curtin
$149,500 Kako
$148,700 Warner?
$140,500 Joe Berry
$133,500 Paton (Probably better selected in defence)

$119,900
Hall?
Konstanty
Stone?

$113,500
Sam Davidson
Angove?
Gallop

I'd probably only field Stone, Davidson and SPP
I wouldn't like to field any of that lot, that being said it's probably not an issue until round 5 and things should look quite different by then. Maric and Garcia I'm much more comfortable with even though their prices are up there.

Yeh Garcia is probably the go and Maric will probably be a downgrade target later.

I think we vastly overrate rookie expectations every year.

Take Lynch for example, if you remove last season, he's put up 64 or higher for 12 straight years, so he's been on the high end of rookie scoring for 12 straight seasons, including some truly dreadful teams (which looks the case this year) and yet everyone doesn't want to start him. Even more pronounced given it's only best 22 for 2 of the first 5 rounds.

We get a Sheezel, McKercher or Daicos about once every 5 years, it's just been a freak show to get them in back to back seasons. Hunt last year was an outstanding rookie but because of that trio people forget it.

Darcy Wilson averaged 65 last year and made 300k, he was an exceptionally good rookie and yet people act like it would be the end of the world if someone averages 60 or even 55.

This is a very good crop of rookies, it's deep and has a variety of roles which makes it interesting. There will be duds, there will guys like Dempsey that don't seem that good but are amazing, there will be guys that seem good but aren't but at least we've got options.

Now the backs, we wont mention those :)

Ok... so I'm going through and throwing together a draft and I don't know how I missed this previously but seriously, there's a guy whose parents named him Jack with the surname Ough.

Like come on, how is Jack Ough a real name, some parents are just plain cruel. How many times would have had to "correct" the pronunciation on that surname.

I commit that he will be my rolling donut this year when it comes time to pick one.

Hey everyone,
I asked this question in the draft thread a little while back, and with today's unfortunate news re: Jagga I was wondering who your picks are for long term SC scoring potential from this year's draft crop.
Say over the next 3-5 years, who do you see as the most likely candidates to become an elite SC scorer?
For context, I have pick 3 in a keeper league re-draft (we each kept 12 players), and thought that Jagga and Levi would go at #1 and #2. Now am thrown off a bit!
Any responses would be greatly appreciated, cheers!

Langford could turn out the best of all of them, Jagga will come back stronger and yes Levi will get a good role in the midfield at some point.
