Hi mate, only if you get a chance, what do you reckon?? :)

Round 10
Jay Kennedy-Harris ---> Charlie Cameron
Jared Polec ---> Shannon Hurn (via DPP)
Matt Crouch ---> Joel Selwood

$187,600

Round 11
Possibly OUT Sam Lloyd, and other rookies.
Possibly IN Nick Riewoldt/Pearce Hanley & Cameron Shenton

Round 12
Whichever out of Riewoldt/Hanley I don't get.

Thoughts??
Looks like a pretty decent plan to me.
Good luck :)

Thanks all. I'm on track to achieve my (now not so) secret goal of 100,000 views, and do it by 2,500 posts, so it averages 40 views per post! It was as low as 32/post at one stage, and crept just above the "magic" 40 mark on Wednesday, but has fallen just below it again. I am confident it will end up somewhere just above 40, just not sure the views will crack the 100,000 mark though. :)

Hey Rowsus, first of all congrats on your ton.

Just wondering what you think of a sideways Cotchin>Griffen trade? Griffen looks to be hitting form, while Cotchin has played his two 'easiest' games. The only concern is 1. is it a waste of a trade, and 2. the doggies draw looks pretty tough from here.

By the time I finish my team (22 prems) I'll have 11 trades left. Cheers

With all the discussion about GAB ave 151 it would be fair to assume he is going to have a few modest rounds sooner or later (for him 120 is modest but a top score for most others!!!).

Rowsus I am interested in how C and VC selections should be handled going forward.

Pendles, Swan and Beams are popular VC selections. Till now GC have only played before/same time Collingwood twice. So pick a Pie and if it doesn't work out GAB to the rescue. Now Collingwood will now only play before GC twice till the end of the season.

So if you VC GAB and C Pendles and GAB has a 120 do you take it? Or do you roll with Pendles? Or plonk the C on someone else and roll the dice? Choosing the right C can make a huge difference to your score. Any thoughts?
I think I am responsible for writing this last Monday and pointing the bone at GAB! And I had him as C after Jelwoods effort....

Hey Rowsus, grats on the 100 pages!! Bloody fair effort to respond to all that.

My question is pretty basic. Which line would you recommend completing first, defense or forward?

Defense - At the moment i have Langdon D6 and Langford D7 with D8 a FD for looping when i can. I would probably get Bartel or McVeigh to complete my defense.
Forward - I have Higgins F5 with Lloyd, Ambrose and Cameron F6-F8. I would probably get N.Roo or Parker to fill out my forward line.

Thanks in advance.

Hey dyii, thanks for that. :)
There certainly has to be genuine doubts on Cotchin to score at the level required to fill even the M8 spot in a completed team. Having said that , I'm not a fan of sideways trading, until you have completed your team. Sometimes though, it is necessary. Unless something untoward happens, Cotchin shouldn't lose too much in value from here. Against that, Griffen could get on a run, and in 3 rounds the swap over might cost just under $100k (potentially).
The attraction of Griffen is his ability to pump out 140+ scores. He has done this more than most Mids in the past 2 seasons, and it is of course, accompanied by the ability to have a few sub 100 scores as well. The interesting thing is, his 140+ have not always come in the circumstances you might imagine, here is his 140+ scores in the last 2 seasons, in reverse order of how the Bulldogs faired in those games:
Lost by 82 points - 167 - Rnd 21, 2012 vs Sydney
Lost by 60 points - 143 - Rnd 13, 2013 vs Richmond
Lost by 54 points - 171 - Rnd 7, 2013 vs North Melbourne
Lost by 21 points - 152 - Rnd 6, 2012 vs Collingwood
Lost by 19 points - 140 - Rnd 17, 2013 vs Hawthorn
Lost by 3 points - 148 - Rnd 14, 2013 vs Melbourne
Won by 9 points - 176 - Rnd10, 2013 vs Port Adelaide
Won by 42 points - 155 - Rnd 5, 2012 vs Brisbane
As you can see, he doesn't need an "easy" draw to post these scores. It actually is against a good typical cross-section of the Bulldogs scores and opponent quality in the last 2 seasons.
It could be an inspired trade, or it might be waste. By the sounds of it you have room to speculate on a couple risky ones, so why not?
Good luck :)

...... and I'd just like to thank you for doing that! Hopefully if Ablett can follow it up with another "human" score of around 120-125, he might nearly $100k cheaper in 2 weeks, and I can afford to get him! :p

Hey brad,
Barlow is the better of the two. Mundy has never shown the ability to score at 110+ over a long period of time. While Mundy has outscored Barlow in 4 of the 5 games they played together this season, I prefer to give Barlow a break on his round 7 and 8 scores, as he was still finding his way back again. In 2013 they played 19 games together, and Barlow outscored Mundy in 13 of them.
Good luck :)

Hey anfa18, thanks for that. :)
Given your F6 is weaker than your D6, I'd go for a Fwd upgrade first. I also think this, because there is a chance neither Ambrose or Lloyd will get selected this week.
Good luck :)

Btw Row, I am contemplating getting in my M7/M8 this round.
Question is, I have 3 options to choose from and would ask who do you think would be best to bring in.

1. Goddard (take away his injury affected score and he is flying!)
2. Barlow (easy run coming up but could always wait a week with his moderate B/E of 125)
3. Rocky (the most expensive of the 3 options but is a true gun, worried about his team being spanked though)
4. Any other options I should be looking at?

Cheers mate!

Hey Rowsus

I was thinking of getting Bartel into my mids so I could swap him my DPP backs in case of injury/suspension.

Also getting Shenton in the mids to alternate with my DPP forwards for the same reason.

Is this something which you advise?? While having movement between my lines, am I sacrificing points by getting Bartel in my mids instead of a Watson, Barlow etc??

Love your work!!
