SJ was never an option for me, with the weekend being one of the reasons why. Obie wrote a very good post earlier in this thread, which I totally agree with. Also, while SJ has a nice draw for the next few games, he has a poor record against most of the teams he plays in his last 4-5 games (which includes Freo). It's interesting that second place brought in Goddard, I wonder if that was due to SJ being a late out and Goddard was the best available/affordable or whether that was a planned trade?
The plan was to get Libba, but then having to deal with Cox, meant that while I could still get Libba, it would ave impacted my remaining planned trades. I decided to gamble against Libba and his highish b/e (which failed!) and possible pick him up at a slightly cheaper price. It's not a total disaster, as I can still get him, but I now also have the option of Libba, JPK or Rocky for my final mid upgrade.
Jack was a little left-field, but he is the type of player I like. Rarely misses a game, will generally get you 110-115 a game, with a couple of big games a year, and has a nice draw coming up. The Swans midfield also runs deep, so less likely to get the tag. Getting Jack wasn't so much of increasing my PODs but picking who I thought was the best available player without screwing my long term plans.
