Ablett > A.Swallow ($486,400) - This is very left field and is just a thought for me at the moment.

1. Swallow has a really good history over the past 4 seasons, with averages of 106.2, 111.9, 109.4 and 101.3.
2. He has just starting hitting some form with 134 against the Lions in a loss and 100 against the Hawks in a win.
3. His contested possession, tackle and clearance counts have been very good in the past 3 weeks. He has also kicked 4 goals in those 3 games.
4. North Melbourne has a very good run home... St.Kilda, Carlton, Geelong, GWS, W/B, Adelaide and Melbourne.
5. He is averaging just under 100 if you take away his first 2 return games (round 9 he was the sub and round 10 was his first full game).

My hope would be that he can average 105+ for the rest of the season and possibly upgrade Swan to Ablett after he plays 1 or 2 games. If not, Swan + savings to Rockliff or Fyfe.
It's definitely something to seriously consider.

I've still got one of my fwd/mids playing in the middle. If I was to bring Swallow in, I could also afford McGovern to JPK, or pretty much any mid. So Swallow and JPK in, and Shenton to the bench, sounds pretty good to me. Will have to see how things pan out at Team Selection night.

Really??? Really??? Really????

My 2 unique premiums both out for 1 week. Wow.

Wingard and bloody o'brien cover, do I trade Goddard and keep rocky if o'brien is still out or sub?

Or just keep both and take the hit?

4 trades left after trading gazza. swan might need to be upgraded which will only require 1 trade.
Anyone else have both these guys?

Looking at my team in SC Gold - all 91+ except one player...Adcock...not a little bit short, but at least 20 points short of most of my other players

Trade plans are:

If Sandi is not named:
Ablett to JPK
and Sandi to Jacobs $629k (sick)

If Sandi is named:
Ablett to JPK
and cry when Sandi is a late out and I don't have anyone to bring in

Got a funny feeling there's going to be a lot of crying this week

Thoughts appreciated guys.
Ablett will have to go so I'm thinking of going Ablett to dal Santo which would allow me to go hurtung to Mitchell If he scores below 85 the following week. Unfortunately with Goddard out I'm forced to go hurtung to Wingard who will hopefully provide me with adequate cover for fwds/mids. Even though he will avg about 10 less is it worth it as he will cover Goddards zero this week. Unfortunately I will only have two trade left for the remainder of the year. If Mitchell didn't score below 85 I was going to get Marc Murphy instead. Is it better perhaps to go Ablett to swallow and get Mitchell as cover instead?

Would you just do the Jacobs-Sandi trade anyway knowing that Sandi will be rested very soon, just like we have thought all year.
Must say it is tempting, as I'd much rather Jacobs than be forced to trade in Mummy at the 11th hour just to avoid a zero.

With all the talk of who should we trade GAJ to I'm going to hold him for one week.
Rockliff is prob the only one i dont have that i would put in, in his place.
Why did rockliff have to go get suspended this weeks of all weeks.
oh well better to be out this week than the week after i bring him in.
Welcome to the field finally Anthony Miles ive had your tons on the bench depressing
me for the amount of time ive had you lad. Now its time to be useful. Another please!

Yeah the thought did enter my head and I think it would give me a bit of an advantage over those who get stuck with him if he was a late out but it feels a little risky unnecessarily committing trades especially the way things have been going lately.

Still crunching the numbers as I'd like to keep some money on the side to bring Gaz back in as well...and Mitchell..all with 5 trades left lol

My Current Mids:
GAJ, Pendles, Fyfe, JPK, Beams, Selwood, NDS, SJ (Shenton M/F, O'Brien)

Clearly GAJ will be a problem and will have to trade if he misses 3+ weeks. But I like to see GAJ being out as a solution to another I hope. Originally I was going to go Shenton to Hunt and Tippett to Mitchell but with the GAJ injury, it has forced me to waste another trade so with limited trades I have devised a cunning plan which will need a lot of help from the SC Gods. My aim is to afford Sam Mitchell in round 18 or round 19 and create a DPP link by going Zac O'Brien to J Hunt. This would also allow me to keep Shenton as a M/F link which I think will be crucial for the last few weeks as Shenton has been a decent scorer so would love to keep Shenton if possible.

FUTURE TRADES:
Rd 18 or Rd 19
O'Brien to J Hunt
Tippett to S Mitchell

Basically for my future trades to work, the stars really need to align for me.
- Sam Mitchell really needs a poor game this week &/or next week
- I really need Zac O'Brien to play this week or next week and get anything above his B/E of 4. Even being the sub and getting a few points would help.

THIS WEEK:
Remaining Salary $86,800
So this week GAJ to one of these 3 options:

Option 1: Cotchin $540,700
If I get Cotchin, need Mitchell to drop to $422,600 next week to afford Tippett to Sam Mitchell with the one trade.
PROS: His monster scores in the last fortnight. Cheapest of the 3
CONS: Could revert back to his below 100 point per games.

Option 2: Barlow $547,000
If I pick Barlow, need Sam Mitchell to drop to $416,300 next week to afford Tippett to Sam Mitchell with the one trade.
PROS: Ultra POD. Good finals draw. The most consistent of the 3.
CONS: Most likely to get Rossed. Will become my 3rd pair of midfielders of the same team (others being Pendle/Beams, Sel/SJ, Fyfe/Barlow)

Option 3: Liberatore $562,900
It's tight... but I would need Sam Mitchell to drop to $400,400 next week or even the week after to afford Tippett to Sam Mitchell with the one trade.
PROS: Has the highest ceiling. Good finals draw.
CONS: Risk of the hard tag if Griffen misses and might get the odd low score.

Of the three options, I like option 3 best as Liberatore has such a good draw for finals and would love a high ceiling player like him to replace GAJ, but I can't see Sam Mitchell getting to 400k without a lot of help. I am happy enough with Barlow as he was one of my options a few weeks back but with Freo playing the last game of the week, there could be some carnage and also having a 3rd pair of midfielders in the same team on the one line could somehow backfire on me. Cotchin, I still have a few question marks on him but it's pretty hard to ignore his last 2 weeks. Here's to hoping ZOB gets named and Sam Mitchell not to go too crazy this week.

Like many others I am in a tough spot with Trades. I am sitting on the top of my league ladder which is all I care about winning so I think I am going to take some short term pain to set myself up for the finals with not trading Ablett this week even though I have Rocky as well.

This week I am going to go Ambrose to Honeychurch and Hooker to Bartell.
Next week I will trade Ablett out for someone yet to be decided (I have Rocky, Fyfe, Pendles and Libba) and Litherland for Mitchell.

Unfortunately I will only have 2 trades left then but it's got to be done.

Should I keep McGovern as my FWD cover?
Except for that poor score that he had last week due to the weather, he has been doing ok.
Obviously the choice has to be made this week due to his high B/E.
Either I keep him as my F7 or I cash him in before he bleeds too much cash.
Opinions welcome cheers!

I'm hoping Ablett's out for 3-4 (so I can cover him with Swan....)
I'm hoping Swan can return to his premium scoring....

Not sure which one is more likely

He is capable of 100 but it looks as though you won't be able to utilise a loophole to get rid of his bad scores.

Adelaide (Charlie Cameron most likely loop) fixture:

When Adelaide play:

R17 - Friday night. No Loop
R18 - Last game (2nd week). Yes Loop.
R19 - 1st game Saturday. No Loop.
R20 - 1st game Sunday but West Coast play last game of round. Could loop Cameron with Gunston (who plays Melb).
R21 - Adelaide play sat night but none of your other forwards play before him so; No Loop.
R22 - Adelaide play 1st game Saturday, WCE play sat night. No Loop.
R23 - Adelaide v Saints (almost certainly Sat night or Sunday) but Gold Coast v WCE - I'd nearly lock that in for 4:40pm Sat if GC are finals bound or 1:10pm Sun if Gold Coast are off the pace, potential loop.

Looking at it from your current side:

West Coast play after Adelaide (Charlie Cameron) on 5 out of 6 weeks definite coming home. If you are to keep McGovern you would nearly always be playing him without a loop option.

In my best Jeff Probst voice, it is time to go McGovern.

Thanks for that round by round analysis, it is indeed gonna be hard looping him.
Charlie will most probably return in 2 weeks time anyway so that is quite irrelevant.
I don't quite have any cash to upgrade McGovern though, so that leaves me with 2 options.

Option 1
Downgrade him to Honeychurch and create the perfect swing-set with Shenton in my MID. I get to keep Gaz in this instance.

Option 2
Downgrade Gaz to someone cheaper like JPK/NDS and use that cash to upgrade McGovern to a better F7.

Which would you suggest I do? Only have 4 trades left...

Does anyone think it is a silly move bringing Mitchell in for Shenton as M9? Is it a waste of money? Adds cover to both midfield and defense if needed. (was planning on making this trade in 2 weeks time when hopefully Sammy drops to 400k) - have Hodge, Bartel Swallow and McVeigh that can switch into Mids to change with him. Only have Litherland as forward cover though.

OR

Should I concentrate on Switching out S.Martin and Pavlich for Harvy and Parker - and keep Shenton for the MF cover? - if I'm able to get both, i'll have Parker Harvey Dangerfield Gray D.Martin that can switch with MF switch that can switch with Shenton if needed. Only have Impey as backline cover though

Thoughts on Daniel McStray from the Lions, DEF???

$117K and whilst I don't think he'll score too great will at least be some DEF cover for me. Was he the starting sub in his first game??

Thinking maybe the double downgrade this week now that Rockliff is out and his price wound change.

McGovern ----> Honeychurch
O'Brien/Shenton ----> McStray (via Hunt DPP)

Creating a decent amount of funds to hopefully go Shenton to Rockliff. Then again everything depends on what this specialist has to say about Gazza.

Looking for someone to replace Gaz, was going to be Rockliff but then I thought of Sloane who's been travelling nicely and maybe a handy POD with a great run home. Then checked out his averages against upcoming opponents in SC finals Brisbane 78, Richmond 80, NM 116 & SK 84. It's amazing how we get excited about soft runs then see premiums put up crap scores against crap sides. Looks like Libba for me now
