Hi FT, at this stage I'm looking to do something similar with Parker. I was looking at 2 trades, but I think I'll benefit from saving the trades in the long run.
Hi jaca,
Yeah team very similar to mine , you have coverage for Hibberd who will be back nxt week , so your doing Gaz to Parker this week and Shenton to JPK nxt week , how many trades will that leave after next week

Ahh that hurt my head actually. Tricky situation to be in this week. Don't mind 4 tbh as you dont look to be short of cash on the bench so upgrading next week while covering this week wont be a problem. Will have good cover as well.

If there was another M/F FD you could grab you could also loophole your F6 this week.
Thanks for that IDIG. It has given me a headache too. I think I'm going with option 4, as next week it will allow me to bring in either Gray or to swing Parker forward and bring in another mid premo, possibly Rocky. Will also be better for my overall structure I think.

(P.S. Tried to give you a REP, but apparently I've given you too many or something.)

To keep SMartin past next week or trade him? Does it look like Sandi will have a rest even with a Bye coming up?

Thanks Meataxe... I will hold out till Shenton plays and trade in PARKER if he plays like crap! Thanks for your help man

SOrry to steal your idea FT, but what an idea! Now I'm thinking about bringing in Parker this week for Gaz, and then next week bring Parker down to Forward line and trading SMartin to Kennedy!

I'm in the same position as you... only 3 trades left
Hi Tiga ,
Hey imo i would leave Martin (wish i had him there) and do Cameron or Impey for Honeychurch bring Hc to mids for Parker and then next week trade Shenton for JPK , u have DPP in mids then and both ruck coverage , wish i could do that and you still have 1 trade left for emg , just a thought

My Team -
DEF: McVeigh, Simpson, Hanley, Hurn, Enright, Birchall (Cutler, Georgiou)
MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Liberatore, Beams, Fyfe, N.Jones, Murphy (O'Brien, Acres)
RUC: Sandilands, Goldstein (Thurlow, King)
FWD: Harvey, Dangerfield, Martin, Zorko, Pavlich, Wingard (Ambrose, Cameron)

After having a terrible 2 weeks which have seen me drop 1,200 overall places, I have come to the conclusion that I have a few weak links in my team I must address.
These weak links are: Birchall, Enright and Wingard.
I have 6 trades at the start of the round, and obviously one has to be used on Ablett (trading to JPK).
My dilemma is, with only 5 trades, I really have to take a wild guess as to which two of these players I think will perform the best for the remainder of the year, as I may only get the opportunity to trade one of them as I may have to use my remaining trades for injuries. After trading Ablett -> JPK, I am left with $123,100 to spend.

These are what I believe to be my options:

A)
Ablett -> J.P Kennedy
Birchall -> Mitchell
Cash left over: $93,800

B)
Ablett -> Sloane/Dal Santo
Wingard -> Gray/Parker
Cash left over: $18,000 (Sloane/Gray)/ $44,100 (Dal Santo/Gray)

C)
Ablett -> J.P Kennedy
Enright -> Mitchell
Cash left over: $108,900

D)
Ablett -> J.P Kennedy
Birchall -> Swallow
Cash left over: $24,200

E)
Ablett -> J.P Kennedy
Wingard -> Dahlhaus
Cash left over: $73,600

Would appreciate peoples' opinions and if they have any other options I should consider

I have 3 trades left.

I have McGovern and Ablett to get out of the team this week.

I have $60k in the bank.

My Ablett trade options are pretty good. However McGovern lost $9k last week and to upgrade him I need at least $100k after my Ablett trade is done.

Ablett to Fyfe gives me an extra $34k but leaves me short for the upgrade. I am think McGovern to Motlop, considering Motlops steady improvement since returning from injury I think he will finish the season well. I can't do this if I get Fyfe.

Ablett to Kennedy nets me $80k which leaves me with $140k to upgrade McGovern. If that is to Motlop it leaves me $30k or so in the bank for my final trade which will be saved for covering an injury.

Ablett to Parker nets $140K which means I could look even higher than Motlop for the McGovern upgrade or have an extra $90k to upgrade one final injury when required.

Mid looks like: Ablett, pendles, beams, selwood, cotchin, johnson, gray, libba, crouch and acres.

What should I do?

Parker?
Kennedy?
Fyfe?
Someone else?

Motlop or some other forward?

Could you wait for Mitchell's price to drop further and then trade him in for cutler or Georgiou? That gives you birchall or enright as bench cover with loophole opportunities. This might mean taking the cheaper mid option eg NDS over JPK

Which is the better trade, gents?

Parker, S. Mitchell for Ablett, McGovern

or

Jack, S. Mitchell for Ablett, McGovern (+13k)

I think Jack might score higher than Parker for the rest of the season, and is a little bit of a buy low at the moment. Is he under an injury cloud at all? I couldn't find anything concrete. While Jack might score slightly more points (give or take) than Parker, getting Parker and shifting McGovern to get Mitchell opens up D/P links everywhere, and I'm starting to think that maximum flexibility might be worth sacrificing some points for. Is Parker playing full time in the middle? What do all you SC legends think? Hope that all made sense, by the way. The team would look like this after the deal (difference being that the one with Jack would have no DP link to the fwds, whereas if I get Parker, I have multiple guys who can swing from back or forward line into the mids:

(DP is Dual Position)

Back: McVeigh [DP], Hibberd, Hanley [DP], Simpson, Hurn, Mitchell [DP], Enright, Kolodashnij
Mids: Pendlebury, Fyfe, Johnson, Beams, Selwood, Cotchin, Jack or Parker [DP - F], Swan, J. Hunt [DP - B], Acres
Rucks: Sandi, Ablett, two 102ks
Forwards: Dangerfield [DP], Roughead, Pavlich, Zorko [DP], Martin [DP], Franklin, Honeychurch [DP], Cameron

Also will have four trades left afterwards, for finals time, and around 50k. Thanks in advance!

Bloody Dean Cox single handedly ruined my year since i drunkenly missed trading him 6 weeks ago. 3 donuts and counting how im still top 500 is beyond me. Debating going Gaz > JPK and Cox > Minson leaving me 1 trade but just cant seem to bring myself to do it. Probably eat another Krispy Kreme and save some trades once again.

Yeah I do like this idea. However, I still can't afford to go Ablett -> Dal Santo this week and Cutler -> Mitchell next week. I will be about $10,000-$20,000 short. I could trade in S.Johnson for Ablett and afford to do that, but I don't like the idea of Stevie J and weak bench cover in my midfield, I don't think I trust him.

Hey FT. I only have 3 trades left... so trading for Parker would give me 2 left and only 210k in the bank which means I can't afford Shenton to JPK... and no way Impey and Cameron will be able to move up and make the trade either.

I myself am thinking of keeping SMartin, but I am not sure if I can afford that and make any changes.

I could just trade Ablett to Kennedy... or Sloane... but unless I go down to K.Jack... I won't be able to boost up any bench players enough to get Parker and keep Smartin at the same time.

Mind you, Had GAZ not gotten injured, your plan what exactly what I was going to do.

Hi Tiga,
I guess with Martin it's a choice of ruck coverage v gun fwrd , let me know what u decide , but you will be like me having just one trade left. You need the strongest midfield you can i suppose

Hey FT, would you ever entertain the thought of trading Pav and keeping SMArtin?

Can someone help me please! In a battle with a mate for most points for year and he's hot on my heal's! So looking to trade ABLETT to either SLOAN PRIDDIS WARD LIBBA or JPK but i already have 4 swans and my other trade is MCGOVERN to either GREY HARVEY OR PARKER but again already have 4 swans!
So i was leaning towards ABLETT to SLOAN and MCGOVERN to HARVEY?

Without JPK and Parker... which 4 swans do you have???

Buddy, McVeigh, Malceski....... Derrickx????

Sloane has shown super consistency, so if you don't want to spend too much get him. Ward I think might find it hard without Treloar in the team as he will be heavily tagged by Crowley this week. Libba without Griffen (illness) in the team will cop a tag and will struggle... as shown when he played against Jack Viney. Priddis... I don't trust to rack up massive scores consistently.

Gray has been very consistent this year, Parker is someone I want to bring in too, but when Hannebery gets back, he will have less midfield time... but Harvey will drop in Price this week so you shouldn't pick him yet. I would say Gray>Parker>Harvey

I would choose JPK first but since you have 4 Swans, I would go Sloane and Gray as your 2 trades

Interesting thought Tiga, in your position worth a thought , you could still keep ruck coverage and i guess Parker may score more than Pav , and you still get JPK in the mids , the only concern is will Martin still command a spot when Leuenberger retuns for Brisbane ,that's what you must decide on , yeah i would probably look at that .
Good luck mate
