Even though I don't support either of Carlton or Richmond, I think it's great that the first game of the season is Carlton v Richmond again. Gave a real blockbuster feel to start of the season. Terrific move by the AFL.

VC Ablett C Pendles or VC Pendles C Fyfe. ;)

Going to be a long summer! I was thinking only earlier today that it must soon be time for some fixture leaks.

I wonder how the byes will play out with only one bye per team. Will they spread it over three or two weeks? Footy wise I'd prefer it over quick in two weeks but SC wise three weeks and multi bye rounds make the game more challenging (and frustrating!) I think.

No split round for the first round, great news!
Niceeeee...Gee there's nothing more excruciating than having a crap start to the sc year, then having to wait an extra week for the misery to pass.

Not a bad opening round of games actually. Every game will probably be sc relevant with the exception of maybe WB v WC???

Passing on Libba I take it! Hard to say at the moment which teams are SC relevant or not until we at least know which rookies are at which club and then which ones have a chance of playing early games.

Gold Coast playing second game scares me! I'm nervously looking forward to the annual Ablett or No Ablett thread this year! I am generally 50/50 at this point in time. Interesting that he plays Melbourne first, his last three scores against them are: 161, 67 and 152. If you are in the No Ablett camp and he bangs out a 150+ your season could be over already!

Good thing we have a pre-season competition, so we can make some educated guesses on player fitness, injury, role, position and what not. I will be reserving judgement on Ablett until i see him run around a couple times. Also, waiting for Ablett to get more forward time in 2015

Some reports about him tearing the bicep off the shoulder makes him a very doubtful starter in my team.

Who?!? Gaz or Libba lol

Yeah won't not be starting with either of Gaz/Pendles myself. It's M3/4 which have got me in a real bind. Looking at the round 1 fixture, Cal Ward's looking good and then to try and figure out who Caff will go to in round 1. Surely it's his old mate Beams??

Macaffer wont play round 1 due to a knee injury he suffered late last year. Doubt he will play at all in 2015.

Murphy, Biggs, Johannisen and Wood would be all ahead Fuller at this stage. Doesn't look good.
On the surface no, but his chances could be better. Not being delisted is the first step. New coach etc. I think he was injured towards the end. Even though they are not DEF's we have lost quite a few best 22 players and only 2 have come in. (If Biggs is in the 22) so our depth will be tested.

Oh yes NicNat forgot about him. I'll find it very hard to see past his durability issues personally but i reckon alot will be on him.

He and Pearce though could be considered lucky though, with Higgins leaving and Young, Goodes deslisted, Bulldogs had to keep a few defenders as back up. I don't think they have enough to last more than another year. Of course there's always that slight chance.

Ahh forgot about that. Guess that makes Collingwood a less worrying opponent for captain options.
