Essendon has delisted three players, one of whom is Hardingham. Jetta has told them he is looking at other options.

Melb delists Strauss and Blease - Blease is rumoured to have the Hawks interested. Out of the 7 top 20 draft picks Melbourne had in 2008 and 2009, only Watts, Trengrove and Tapscott remain at the club

There's just something a little bit wrong about that!

Yes, yes there is. Especially considering Watts is the AFL whipping boy, Trengrove has an LTI and Tapscott played 3 games last year

To be fair, they weren't all that spectacular as far as drafts go, especially the 2009 one.

Interesting looking back at these drafts on wikipedia now, especially '09 NicNat second after Melbourne's first pick, also Hamish Hartlet, then Ziebell, Phil Davis and Sidebottom at 9,10,11.

Also notable for Danye Beams going at 29 and Hannebery going at 30. And the legendary Rory Sloane going at 44 - What a steal! On reflelction you'd almost swap any of these last 3 for any of the top 20!

08 was a great draft!

I think it's more proof that talent isn't everything. Combine poor development (Scully, Trengove, Watts, Morton, Blease) with terrible drafting (Cook!) and its a train wreck!

To be fair again lol, From what I remember it doesnt matter who had those picks all off Watts, Trengrove and Scully would have gone with the same pick.

That was my point, they weren't shock selections when taken so it's what has happened after they were drafted that is the problem. I'm sure there's a whole range of combinations of factors, but it all comes under development.

I have a lot of time for Eddie. I'm not anti Eddie. But occasionally he gets it so wrong and has a ridiculous rant. I do not get his logic on why the pies should receive money. I don't get his comparison to Griffen. The Pies now have Eades wage to refill the position, they lose nothing other than Eades experience. If you don;t want to lose people then don't fill them with highly rated and experience ex coaches who have a clear passion for coaching lol. If clubs have to start paying compo to get coaches they might get scared off, meaning the best coaches are not coaching which isnt good for the league. Not so much interstate clubs but clubs like us, the deamons, saints, north etc would.

Maguire is the biggest waste of oxygen amongst the AFL bubble. The competition will be better off for it if it wasn't so complicit and down on their knee to him and his whims.

Well put mate. Being a pies fan he says some dumb stuff sometimes.
And I think there slowly taking the club backwards.
Time for Eddie to stand aside and let someone else take over

Spoken like a true collingwood hater lol
Absolutely. :D The mentality he's encouraged and massaged amongst you lot is horrible. The sense of entitlement is amazing.

That's specifically generalised, I should add.

FYI, I liked Collingwood as a kid. I used to read up on all their players (after Hawks ofc). It was a passing phase :D

Just because he says one thing doesn't imply all collingwood people think the same (although some may think different) I believe what he said wasn't right. If he had a contract till the end of next year make him honour it, unless there was a clause somewhere that stated about being offered a senior job elsewhere. This is one of a few occasions of late where Eddie needs to pull his head in the world doesn't centre around collingwood. Bad luck move on get someone better in to fill his spot.

Robbo a lion. 2 year deal.
Don't mind this at all. Obvious risks but has the potential to be a real good addition to their list. A change of scenery might be all he needs.
