Did last year's winner end up doing a season review of his side?
Was thinking the same thing a few days ago BC, i havent seen anything on here or on HS site
Last years winner was Patrick Warman, team "C-Money" with a total of 54,465 points.
I've read somewhere where he mentioned his starting side and a few trades going his way and humbly accepted the role of luck in the outcome. All good. But to be honest I really don't think he's got any inciteful information to share at all. Just my opinion.
I googled his name and team name and got this
He WON TWO COMPS
NOT even in his wildest fantasy football fantasies could Patrick Warman have predicted this one.
Warman might just be the greatest make-believe coach the nation has ever known, having this year taken out both major national fantasy AFL competitions: the Herald Sun’s SuperCoach and VirtualSports’ Dream Team.
Despite the two games’ differing rules and scoring systems, Warman mastered both to win himself $100,000.
Not a bad return for what Warman estimated to be 20 minutes work each week.
SIGN UP NOW FOR SUPERCOACH FINALS
He could scarcely believe his luck.
“I didn’t expect to go that well,” Warman said. “The SuperCoach was the one I focused on the whole time. This was the first time I’d ever done Dream Team.
“I think I picked the right rookies in both formats and made some good trades along the way.
“I just got lucky in the end.”
While Warman went into the final round of the AFL season sitting on a handy lead in the Supercoach competition, he knew the Dream Team would go down to the wire.
He spent Sunday afternoon at the London Tavern in Richmond, his hopes hanging on Rory Sloane and Matt Priddis.
Both turned in strong efforts, and Warman had won himself a small fortune.
The 28-year-old had a few key players to thank.
“The main thing I reckon got me in both of them was having Robbie Gray in both teams, he had a real breakout year,” Warman said. “Sam Jacobs as the ruckman. David Swallow from the Gold Coast too. Then when Gary Ablett got injured, having Tom Rockliff was probably the difference in the end.
“Getting in Stefan Martin midyear made a difference too. He went remarkably well.”
Warman claimed a $40,000 cash prize from the Dream Team competition and prizes worth $60,000 from SuperCoach.
His local football club, the Heathmont Jets, was the happy recipient of a $5000 bonus from the SuperCoach competition as well.
With a renovation on his Boronia home in mind, Warman said the money would be put to good use.
“We want to do the yard out the back,” he said.
“Maybe the rest, we can put a bit into the house and then a holiday next year might be the go.
“Maybe during football season. I can’t see this happening twice in a row.”
