The start of the Hurricanes season will also see a BBL first with the wicket-keeping duties for the Hurricanes to be shared by Tim Paine and Ben Dunk, both poised to put the gloves on throughout the season.
Both players met in the off-season and hatched a plan to share the job with the decision to who keeps to be made on a game by game basis.
"If anyone has sore fingers or sore hands we are lucky we have two guys who can do it," Paine said.
"I have always enjoyed fielding so looking forward to spending a bit of time out on the field."
Dunk said he will relish the opportunity to be behind the stumps for the Hurricanes and said his fellow keeper, Paine had been a fantastic mentor for his development as a wicketkeeper.
"We both want each other to succeed and he has been great in terms of guiding my wicket keeping.
"When I came to Tasmania, I was more of a stopper, he's turned me into more of a wicket-keeper and that's full credit to him, firstly as a coach and secondly as a person, to invest that amount of time into a competitor."
