Smith's last 6 test scores..

125*, 162*, 52*, 67, 104, 73* @ 291 ave

Umm...***
With Smith getting out on 133 that average drops to 197. Under 200 now? Shocking drop off and that's just not acceptable.

But seriously, that's a phenomenal effort. He could go down as one of the best batsmen in cricket history at this rate.

Funny part is he was originally brought in as a spin bowler, rather than a batsman.

Haha just terrible :p

I can honestly say i got it completely wrong with Smith. Thought he was not a test batsmen's left nut way back when but has proven me completely wrong.

Wow! Just catching up now. Did not know Hazelwood bats left handed. Lead 83. Did not expect this. Hazelwood doing very well to hang around with Starc. Starc just about to make another Test 50.

You're not alone.. you would have heard me calling him a 'spud' and questioning how he's getting a game at international level mere years ago. I've never been more happy to be proven wrong though, what a star now.

Like you guys I'm also stunned how Smith is going. If someone said to me a year or two ago that Smith would be our next Test captain I would have been laughing and horrified at the same time.
I expected him to be a handy one day player and occasional Test match player. I never expected him to bat high in batting order and sew his spot in Test side as a genuine batsman.
Knew nothing much about his character and personality until very recently. Listening to him in recent interviews he seems a lot more mature than I expected. I love watching his unique batting style.
Hopefully over time he bowls a bit more too. Very very handy part time leg spinner.

As I type last batsman out and we have lead of 97.

In the 2010 20/20 World Cup he took 11 wickets over 7 games at an average of 14.81 to finish as the equal second highest wicket-taker at the tournament. Obviously a completely different style/game of cricket, but shows that he can take a wicket. Now his batting is under complete control, I hope he really tries to max out his bowling potential.

Just the one wicket before stumps.
Still, we have the advantage with two days to go.
If we have to chase 240 to 260 should be another great finish.

Now time for me to watch a little bit of the Big Bash and see how Sean Abott is going.

Yeah I had Finch, Wade and Henriques on the field, but Maddinson on the pine so will be getting rid of one of my batsman to take his score for sure. Also had Ahmed but knew that he would be just a bench player for a couple of weeks until I find a cheap bowler who's scored well and about to go up in coin.
