Cannot believe how poorly West Indies cricket has fallen to.
This is the same cricket power than was top of world cricket from late 70's all the way to 1995 when Australia finally were first side to beat them in a Test series for a decade and a half. They were a team created by wonderful Clive Lloyd as captain. Hard hitting opener Gordon Greenidge. Master blaster number 3 bat Viv Richards and four really fast bowlers of Michael Holding, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner and Malcolm Marshall that were not only hard to survive against but also score against. Now they are a region that can not even beat a minnow nation in World Cup. Ireland taking them to the cleaners and smashing all their bowlers around. The morale of their side and region must be so low it is hard to get my head around. I feel sorry for their few players really trying but something is terribly wrong. You cannot play this bad unless there is some really bad vibes going on amongst them.
Worse still I cannot see a solution as I cannot see one area of West Indies cricket where there is any harmony. The players and board at loggerheads and probably regional politics not helping. Ireland only need 20 more runs with more than 8 over remaining..
Sometimes it is fun to see a minnow nation knock of a fully fledged cricketing nation but this feels very different and not good feeling at all at this upset. Good luck to Ireland but for me the story is how low West Indies cricket is at.
