Three of the most popular players in SuperCoach 2013 will likely be Brendan Goddard, Tom Rockliff and Bryce Gibbs, will you have all three?

I won't provide an analysis of these three players as you will either take the standard selection of all three or you won't for your own reasons. However, for completeness, I thought I would confirm my selection.

I know some people are having doubts on Brendon Goddard, but for me he is a lock.

VERDICT: All three are Locks(1)

I'm going with "No Goddard, Yes Gibbs, Yes Rockliff". This is due to my theory on Goddard. =]

Goddard - Lock - Like every year he was the first player selected in my team (Ok it's just because I enter the backs first!).

Gibbs - Lock - Only missed 1 game in 6 years and is the cheapest he has been since his second year.

Rockliff - Likely - I just want to dot my i's and cross my t's before I lock him in.

I have heard you mention this theory before. Any chance of telling us?
Just for the record. I'm a no Goddard, yes Gibbs, and yes Rocky.
There is no particular reason for this, other than the structure I am looking to start with doesn't let Goddard fit in.
But I have him very high up on my "to be traded in" list.

Yes for all for me with the main reason being the positions they play but are listed as. Hopefully they all can get more time in the midfield this year to increase or at least maintain their average.

All three are locked at the moment. In saying that, I really want to bring Tom Hawkins in, but can't find a way to get him, so if I am not impressed with Rockliff in the NAB cup (i.e. him not playing predominantly in the midfield) he will be given the boot.

All three are capable of so much more then they showed last year and they should all be playing through the middle of the ground more. LOCK 'EM IN!!! Plus, I enjoy the Rockliff Challenge on YouTube. :p

There is no reason not to have them all. The only reason I would consider skipping any of them is if I had some gut feel one of them gets an injury some time in season or suspended and by skipping one of them I would have a jump on the coaches that paid for him.

The same goes for any popular player in Supercoach. If I feel ANY reason to go against the grain and turn it into a positive that is type of risk I am willing to punt on at some stage.

When reading through the posts this is exactly the way I would have summed up the way I am feeling about the three players.

Early thought is No to Goddard, Yes to other two.

But more than willing to change my mind once some more evidence arrives. Trade in if required. (I seem to agree often with Rowsus. Is this a good thing?)

Question for the Bomber heads out there...
I watch the Dons and think they need skillful speed in the midfield (Zaka going down seemed to really hurt last year). Worried that Goddard will overlap with existing players and someone will have reduced stats. Will watch and wait for mine.

Goddard is a Lock, the others are high possibility maybe's at this time.

Gibbs is firming for me, with a new coach, removed from the leadership group to concentrate on footy and Judd appearing as though his powers are decreasing, I think he might be worth it.

The Lions look like they are improving, and if so Rockliff will likely also improve his output. I am just monitoring other potential bargains at this point.

Same as Rowsus, Goddard just doesn't fit with the rest at the moment

I've got Goddard and Gibbs LOCKED.
However, I don't have Rockliff, I've gone for Zorko instead.
Not too sure of why this is and it will probably be a terrible move/ (may not even stick with it until rd1) but I do see Zorko improving, after a great first season he will be full of confidence, he will cement his spot in the Lions Midfield and is coming off of an uninterrupted preseason. It's a risk/reward scenario, feel free to tell me im stupid!

Yeah, it's the risk you take. Zorko could end up being another Barlow.

None are an absolute lock for me (a bit early to lock anyone in except maybe Ablett and Luey) but i will most likely start with all three.
I think Goddard and Gibbs are a lot more lockable then Rockcliff however ... there are a few guys around his price like Zorko and Walker for example to consider.
