It was a 3pm deadline to upgrade Rookies, take a deep breath it's going to be ok

Why did clubs wait until the last possible moment to upgrade their rookies? Most players have a day off on Thursdays so in most cases a player can't realistically get injured.

If the deadline was 4am I bet some clubs would still be upgrading a player at 3:58am.
