Help, I'm having last minute twitchy fingers. I have a 5 premo mid with Gaz, Pendles, JPK, Fyfe and Jelwood - $74K in the kitty. I know it's only the first round but my speculative picks in Lumumba, KK and Salem were disappointing to say the least.

Is it madness to even consider trading one of Fyfe or Jelwood to Griffen to free up an extra ~$100K for some correction trades in the next few weeks?
I'd say leave it. It's only been one game, I'd still back your research and gut on your speculative picks. Guys like Lumamba and Salem are pretty popular so a lot of people in the same boat. Also, Griffin himself is a bit of a speculative pick so that could worsen the problem in the end.

Yea, Dusty'll be fine. He could still average 105-110 from the season from here.

Anyone else chose McGovern? Look at his last five games last year, all down back and averaged 100ish. Best swingman ever !!
He was in my team all pre-season until Ezy did his ACL in the NAB cup. His intercept marking and potential to swing forward was a huge reason I wanted him. But once Ezy went down I knew McGovern wouldn't be able to swing, and would some weeks have low scores due to having to be our 2nd tall backman and be a lockdown defender.

Now sadly for us with Mitch Brown going down with likely an ACL, he is forced to be our number 1 full back. He will battle manfully and post some good scores but it's gonna be tough down back for the Eagles now.

Last year he had Glass, MacKenzie and Brown all ahead of him so he could play that swing role and loose man in defense role. Now he is the man with very little help.

As an Eagles fan he has been an amazing find for us, a genuine star in the making I reckon.

This is a very dangerous mission you are going to undertake. Make the wrong move here and you will likely experience the "3 R's". Regret, remorse and restlessness. Some might even say it's one of the more perilous journey's you will ever undertake.

Now very slowly. Ever so slowly. Now gently lift your fingers from the keyboard and stand up from the computer and walk away. Slowly now. No sudden movements, or else you might be risk finding yourself deeply ensnared in what I call the "deep dark pit of tinkering." I've been there and Philszay is too far gone to save, but for you there is hope...

You may need to use all your intestinal fortitude to do it, but resist the primal urges currently flowing through your veins. :p

But in all seriousness Bobbie, depends on corrective trades you looking to make. If it's Rockliff, you'll generate cash anyway and if it's some premo rookies like Cripps or Sheed you're worried about, then you're likely to have some cheaper options available. Griffen not a bad option mind you, but getting in Fyfe or Selwood if they pump out some big scores in first half of season might cost you some additional trades at the end of the day. Griff may pump out a big one today, but how do you think he will compare for duration of the season?

Now repeat after me... "My name is Bobbie and I'm a twitchaholic..." :p

Good luck either way...

ETA: Just realised you don't have Rockliff - but I'd still stay the course at least until after next round

Lol MU :p

Gotta admit i'm with ya Bobbie, been mentally changing my team all night/morning. I think you gotta just back your research in and resist the temptation. Rarely does fiddling with your team in the last minute work out for you...well it's never worked out for me anyway lol

As it doesn't cost you any trades i can definitely see the reasoning behind wanting to make the correction now rather than later. If i've done my estimations right, i'll need to free up $100k today for corrective trades next week and rookie corrections the week after so it's pretty much now or never! Good luck to us both hahha

Honestly i think you have to do what you have to do as early as possible to have the team your happy with early on
to score maximum points. To die early wondering is pointless.
Some will say dont waste early trades which is fair enough but look at this round: Daisy, Rocky, Lids (maybe). There'll be plenty of teams trading early

At the risk of backtracking from my earlier post, Digger and BC make good counter points. Probably a matter of calculating what you need to address with corrections and how much it's going to cost.

Just remember we'll be here for you whichever way you decide :p

Hoping Dangerfield doesn't go too large today. Changed him and Watson around 100 Times in the last week. Went Danger to Watson again yesterday morning and kept it. While Watsons 104 wasn't too bad, it wasn't anything amazing

Just a quick one - which teams have the best draw for the Floating donut? Wanting to make some rash last minute changes!

From memory Freo, Geelong, WCE were all pretty good, someone else might be able to back it up with the actual stats though

I have the following that I am concerned about:
D - Lumumba, KK
M - Cripps (but not too conerned with rookies yet, however Newton seems like a better choice)
R - TBA as both have not played yet
F - Salem

So, I guess they're not major issues but I have a feeling at least one of the defenders will need a correction trade. Christ.....no idea what to do.
