Does anyone have the inside word on Lachie Whitfield? He may be 80k more, but I thought he was guaranteed a spot.
Apparently will be rotated through the squad and same with O'Rourke. Prefer Wines personally.

Yeah I would think GWS will again rotate a lot of players through there side.
Oli Wines is really starting to knock down the door for a spot in my side, the word coming out of Port is he will play a big part in their midfield and early in the season.

Yes there are rotations, but their best played 18ish games. Not bad for a rookie in any side.

I am more interested but not for SC, I simply want more young Carlton players developing. He could be one of them to start making a spot his own in our team. Going to be hard to get a spot though. He has some talent though. Wing, half back probably he best chance to get a spot.

Kane Lucas, I've very interested to see him in the NAB
I've seen him play 10 or so VFL games and he never stood out. Just an average VFL player, which is of course a below average AFL player.

I'd predict he'll play 6 games, 3 sub involved and get delisted at the end of the season.

Of course some players performances rapidly change under new coaches and as a Carlton fan I'd be delighted if he lived up to the potential other people see in him.

No problem sharing this one - cos I expect all replies to be a 'pass'

Aaron Cornelius is a supremely talented player, best hands in the comp bar none IMO. In a (possibly) improving side, thin on the ground for forwards, I know the Lions heirarchy are hoping he can pin down the roaming forward role (think Chris Mayne but slightly taller).

Bit of a loose cannon by all reports - who isn't these days.

Priced as a sub 50, I'm hoping he can +30 that.

Gonna be interesting to see how the extra trades pan out - will we see more than usual left-field 'speculations' in initial teams given that there are ample trades to correct - or will we see very similar teams from the get go, with everyone using trades to jump on and off the latest flavour of the month - which will lead to similar teams throughout the season . . . . ?? It is fascinating :)

If you actually go with him, good luck! It seems an awfully big leap to take on a guy that has never shown any sc relevance (or js) purely because he has good hands. I also have a pretty good pair of hands but I don't reckon il make too many sc teams this year. If he does break out, I'm perfectly happy to be in the 'didn't see that coming' group.

No doubt - it is a complete hail mary. Given not many fwd rooks kickin bout, I'm just thinking here is one who a) I think can play and b) will be guaranteed a game. With no GC or GWS startups - point b) is crucial.

Last time I checked half of the 'big' AVG/$ increases in FWDs last year were from GWS/GC . . . food for thought. And if you take out DPP, the stocks thin even further. On that note, will be interesting to see what % of teams end up with Varcoe/Lecras/Mcaffer/Byrnes

Don't know if you interstate guys would've heard this story but it's looks like Jake Neade from Port might have a chance if debuting this season after a gun 1st round NAB cup performance:

Could be a handy pod forward rookie if he does get selected in the season proper.
Ya, I actually think Port are one of the most fantasy relevant sides (to starting lineups) in 2013. I'm averse to selecting genuine small forwards, especially rooks - could genuinely have games <30pts. But him playing would screw up those who were gonna use him as floating donut, so that article is very relevant.

Yeah there was an article here they other day about port having 7 first round draft picks in their midfield this year, which is more than any other team. I've gone Brad Ebert in the midfield, he was their highest sc scoring player last year and as such he's the second cheapest top scoring player (by club) behind Melbourne's N.Jones.

Has anyone got any thoughts about David Myers, 23 now, no 6 pick in the 07 draft. Has played some great games at Essendon and if he gets time in the middle he could really step up. I do rate this lad but would love to hear other opinions. Don't think I have the guts to pick him but just putting his name out there.

Also the curse of the no 6 draft pick. Interesting to note that in the history of the AFL draft, no player taken at no 6 has ever played in a premiership, won a Brownlow or even won a club B&F. Think this stat is still right but I'm sure Rowsus could confirm it. Gary Rohan could have played in a flag last year but the no 6 curse struck again.

Have given him plenty of thought as I do think he will be a better player for the Bombers this year and will get more time in the midfield. I am confident that he will have a few really good scoring games.

But he is awkwardly priced at 352.5k and I am quite worried about his consistency. I reckon he could be one of those players that goes 65, 115, 70, 60, 110, 65 etc.... Which would be a bit too frustrating for me.
