A BIG 'Shout Out' to all the contributors and posters on this wonderful site!

This is my 'one-stop' place to get all the latest information on ALL things pertaining to SC, not to mention, our delightful members who never fall short of a comment, suggestion or advice here and there. Many thanks to Jay and his team of 'Moderators' who works tirelessly in the background to ensure we have a smooth forum to exchange and share our thoughts and ideas.

I've always had a good & enlightening experience navigating through this website which makes for the most enjoyable season of SC'ing for me to date.
Well said THCLT.
Also a big thumbs up for all your contributions since you have been on this site. Some really high quality stuff :D

How long do you think we should hold Cripps for?
I think I am on my own here but I think he can be a keeper. A few stats from his last 4 games..

Disposals: 23.25
Tackles: 5.75
Clearances: 6.25
Contested Poss: 15.75
Contested Poss %: 67.53
SC Pts: 112.75
SC Pts / 100% TOG: 143.63

Granted that monster game he had has boosted those stats a bit but the way he plays he is capable of those big games. He will only be getting more time in the middle especially the way the blues are travelling so unless really drops off I will be looking to keep him in my side.

Not SC related but certainly ties in with all the carnage of yesterday..

For all the people here that play Texas hold 'em poker (I'm obsessed) please read my gut-wrenching story and it will hopefully make you feel not quite as unlucky about your SC teams this week.

I was playing in a tournament yesterday which I had qualified for which had 176 players in total. The top 16 were in the money and there were around about 30 players left. I had one of the biggest chip stacks in the room and was cruising when I looked down at KK. A guy on my table had already raised pre-flop and he just so happened to be the only guy on the table that had more chips than me. I went all in over the top and he called fairly quickly which suprised me. I was in excellent shape as he was holding 99.

The dealer laid down the flop and in the window was a king! So I was pretty much home. THEN he uncovered the other two cards on the flop... 9 and 9! So I flop a full house kings full of nines and old mate hits four of a kind nines and my tournament is over just like that. It just so happened that I got knocked out of the tournament right around the time that the siren went and my Dees lost by 105 points. Good times.

If any maths nuts out there could tell me the odds of pocket kings hitting trip kings and getting beaten by a lower pair hitting four of a kind I would be very greatful.
i've watched and played a LOT of poker, particularly living in the US for a couple of years in early 2000's just before the game went boom! and I can only recall one worse bad beat of 4 aces to royal flush on the river in the WSOP (it's on youtube).

i feel for you BB, having gone deep in tourneys only to lose in crushing hands. that's the game unfortunately and why we love it so much, esp when we're in the other persons shoes. thanks for sharing...

Assuming after going all in you are heads-up against the other player, the approx. respective percentage of winning the hand are:

Pre-flop: You (79.22) v Opponent (20.37)
After the flop: You (98.25) v Opponent (1.75)
At the turn: You (97.37) v Opponent (2.63)
After the river: You've truly recorded a BAD BEAT!

Like you, I also love my poker and have been on the end of some 'Bad Beats' so know exactly how gutted you feel.

In a way, the strategies we employed whilst playing poker is similar to trading throughout the SC season so I think this has a 'positive' effect.

Hello poker buddys :) I used to play quite a bit back in the day but now just have the odd casual night with the boys.

Here's a hand from a couple of years back which reads near identical to BB's funnily enough. Flop runs left to right. $1/$1 NL, chips are $1. Both ended up all in on the flop and I think the pot ended up being close to $150. I had 99 that hand as well!

Wow. That fourth ace on the river is just plain rude and unneccesary!

Should get a home game up and running some time for those that are keen, perhaps after the footy when Rowsus is in town? Surely he is a poker buff!

Actually just rereading your hand, it was a lot sicker than that my mate's hand haha

Could you imagine Rowsus calculating pot/implied odds on the spot? Would make for quite an interesting game! :D

Don't pay much attention to the leagues I'm in and use them mainly to gauge how 'par' is looking but have just noticed I'm in a league ranked 7th overall. Everyone in SCS trilobites keep it up!

So you missed the week we were first?! It's a great league. I've made it my primary one.

Here's our thread: http://www.supercoachscores.com/threads/2390-SCS-Trilobites?p=187789#post187789

Oh, I've just realised, you're team is Tonguepunch. Was trying to work out who it was. Well done buddy. Doing really well. I've fallen off the pace in the last couple of weeks, but its a great league to be part of.

Could be in for a very long game if he's using that strategy...how long is his visit to Aus as we don't want him to be late catching his plane. :D

I'd be happy to have a game while I'm over there. I haven't played much in the last 5 years, but used to play regularly. I play the "3 P's", people, position and percentages. I don't often sit there and calculate this or that while I'm playing. I find if I'm doing that I lose a feel for the table. I'd prefer to have a feel for the table, than the numbers doing circles in my head.

Looks like we might have to tee up a game guys...add this to the 'things to keep Rowsus entertained' list.

I'd be in for this! Gave it quite abit of my time a before and during the boom and now just play a home game with mates every so often.

For anyone who isn't aware, tooserious.net have a salary calculator on their website which I know would be very handy for a lot of people on here, including myself, and would definitely save a lot of questions asked.

Link - http://tooserious.net/Stats.aspx?Comp=SC From this page search the player you want, click on their profile and click salary calculator :)

OR

Use the formula from Rowsus provided in his thread...

New Price = Old Price + ((Score - B/E) x 440)

Very viable alternative. The link I gave though is good for looking multiple rounds into the future I found.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-05-21/new-bidding-system-introduced-for-fatherson-and-northern-academy-players

What does everyone think about the new bidding system.
I reckon it's very good concept but is way too harsh.
Sydney would have had to give up 18,37,38 57 for Heeney and get 64 and 88 in return (woo).
Imagine if that was a father son of a legend at your club like Fletch, Ablett, Boomer, Hodge ect.. In fact academy players get a discount so the cost would be far greater.
So great in fact that it will encourage some teams to let a family name slip through. That's somthing I don't want to see.
