Worried as a Carlton supporter for Troy Menzel.
Just noticed after a goal on weekend he was walking to other Carlton players afterwards like a dog with a busted leg.
Hope they look after him better.
I think we been playing him sore under Malthouse and still not looking right.
Then read he had scans. We need to do better than this.

Very frustrating to still have Gibbs out and Walker knee test. Carrazzo also has a Test with sore everything. We need all hands on deck to continue to improve. Doc Larkin's says Sam Docherty misses which hurts my SC team but more concerned about my real team of Carlton. He is our best defender. If he is out big hole imho as we have few genuine defenders. He is strangely not listed on our injury list but suspect Doc Larkin's is not pulling that one out of his ass.
On a positive side, really great to see Kruezer out there and Jamison will be back this week for sure. Ciaran Byrne will apparently return this week after long lay off with hammy. Into the VFL team on weekend.

Rested for long bursts in the 3rd and 4th quarters last week when the games in the balance... A fit pendles goes fwd for a spell not benched for 8 -10 mins a quarter after half time.

Fair enough. Can't see him being rested in a crunch game vs Hawthorn though, a bogey team of yours. At worst he will play fewer minutes (and still score 120).

To slow down so much after such a big first quarter, there must have been something wrong with him and my guess is his ankle as I seem to remember him having some trouble with this earlier in the season.

I really have no idea if he will be rested or not, but it wouldn't surprise me. In any case, its good to raise it now as a possibility so can incorporate the possibility in contingency planning for the weekend.

Quarter time scores are never a good indication of final scores. It's not necessarily people "slowing down", to me it feels like the weighting is constantly being applied as the game evolves. This is purely me guessing here, but it makes sense. QT scores are always big, 2nd and 3rd not so much, and 4th (in close games) huge. The "weightings" are applied when the game is in the balance, so I assume at the start of the game when the scores are level they treat that as "in the balance". eg the first goal of the game the guy often rockets to 15-20 points as he would if he kicked the last goal of the game. If someone kicks a goal to level the score and then there are a further 3 goals the other way, his score will actually go backwards or hover around the same even if he's still gathering touches.
