What looks worse for our game?

A guy screening an unsuspecting opponent, that resulted in unintentional head clash (and concussion), or a guy running his knee into an opponents head?

i am not sure if this has been posted however glenn and boston seemed to do well in the seconds..lets hope they both are included in this squad.

"The Gold Coast SUNS reserves burst out of the blocks to beat locals rivals Southport by 30 points at Fankhauser Reserve on Saturday and move within striking distance of the top six.

The SUNS were on the front foot early, leading by 33-points at quarter-time to put the foundations down for the 18.10 (118) to 13.10 (88) win.

The victory was the SUNS' third in a row, putting Josh Fraser’s side only percentage outside the top six behind Redland.

Scores were level at the 12-minute mark of the first term, but the SUNS slammed on the last six goals of a high-scoring quarter to give themselves a commanding lead.

The Sharks battled hard to make some inroads, at one stage reducing the margin to 25 points early in the third quarter, but could never recover from their poor start.

Fraser revealed his side’s focus in the lead up was on starting the game strongly in order to gain the ascendancy in the crucial clash for both sides finals prospects.

“There was plenty at stake today and we thought Southport would come out pretty hard," he said.

“We thought if we got off to a good start we would have enough experience to hold them at bay.

“That proved to be true, but I thought our effort over four quarters given we had a few injury concerns was really strong.”

Ruckman Zac Smith was a colossus for Gold Coast with 21 disposals, 12 marks, 27 hit-outs and three goals in a best-on-ground performance.

Andrew Raines (26 disposals), Josh Glenn (24) and Andrew Boston (21) were also damaging around the ground, feeding off the delivery from Smith and Keegan Brooksby who also responded emphatically to being left out of Rodney Eade’s side on the weekend.

Highly touted key forward, Peter Wright, was once again instrumental in victory, with last year’s pick No. 8 booting four goals and taking ten marks.

Wright’s performance follows a six-goal, 12-mark effort last week, highlighting the progress he is making in the middle part of the year, and more significantly since his two-game exposure at AFL level."

How does Vickery get 2 weeks for accidentally colliding heads with someone when Buddy got 1 week for running past the ball and taking someone's head off with a bump?

FYFE - $1500 fine
MITCHELL - $1000 fine
SELWOOD - 1 game
VICKERY - 2 games
ADAMS - 2 weeks
Vickery is unlucky. I know he has a duty of care but he really wasn't trying to do anything untoward. In fact it looked to me like he just held his ground and Jamieson ran into him.

Steele in Selwood pine. Like to see Boston, Glenn, Hambling back. Reasonable bench just for this 1-2 week event.

Should have been a fine for ducky.
Fyfe was never gonna get more than a fine. Will be interesting how the MRP will get him off scott free next time as a 3rd fine is a weeks suspension and no brownlow

Same penalty as Adams gets for kneeing a guy multiple times in the head?

Talk about completing my team, and then boom Shiel KO and Selwood one week...
Rest assured MMM you will have some mates amongst us in the next few weeks. Aim will be get a full team on the park and hold 'em if you only have a few, 4 in my case. Shiel has to go for you but. For what it's worth go sideways to a similar POD.

Who do you reckon I should trade Shiel to?

3 teams in top 10 (incl 1st & 2nd) have Selwood, 1 has Adams and 1 has Shiel. Pretty much all have Steele for cover.

On the Sam Mitchell topic, I just came across this in an article: "In 2008, when Mitchell was Hawks captain, Mitchell and teammate Luke Hodge were revealed by Mike Sheahan as two players who had *incensed Brisbane Lions players with their “illegal” tactics in Round 5 of that season. It was reported the AFL umpiring department had been alerted to Mitchell and Hodge’s alleged practice of trying to cork opponents’ legs."
