Franklin owner and Swans supporter, I'd be surprised (but pleased!) if he got up.
Horse said he had a tear in his back and bleeding. I would imagine he will wont be right this week or even next week. syd have a cushion run home so they will be looking to bring him back close to finals. oz if u have a spare trade lying around, I would consider trading buddy out.

Nah, have not had trades left for yonks now. Never had Buddy in SC this year. I was asking as got my keeper league preliminary final team to attend to and need every player on field I can get to have a hope. Was hoping Kelly and Franklin were some chance but sounding like only one of them is. The funny thing is I got Shane Edwards maybe finally back for my SC team but would rather he does not play as my opponent in keeper league has him so please wait another week Edwards.

Lance Franklin in doubt again...

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...g-injury-problem/story-fni5fan7-1227490539035

Coach John Longmire has revealed Franklin has been struggling with a damaged rib cartilage and a torn muscle in his back.

Franklin didn’t train for two weeks and ran for the first time on Monday and Tuesday without joining in the Swans training session at the SCG.

The lack of training puts the spearhead in serious doubt.

“He’s torn a muscle (in his back) and has hurt his rib cartilage,” Longmire told The Daily Telegraph.

“The rib cartilage is OK. The problem for him is the bleeding has gone into his abdominal muscles and that is what is causing him problems.”

Both the injuries were sustained in the lead-up to the Round 17 game against West Coast.

Any word on Hurley? Nic Nat?
According to a regular training watcher at this morning's training:

It was very low key the players basically going through the motions although a bright spot was seeing Hurley with a heavily strapped knee moving well.
Whether that means he will play is anyone's guess....

I went to training today, and I'd say he's a pretty good chance.

McKernan will be back in too, for anyone who still has him and was looking for a loop donut - Giles is injured.

T-Mitch will only miss a week, surely?
Gee these coaches fill us with nothing but confidence

3:56pm: MISHAP MAKES MITCHELL MISS

Sydney Swans ball-magnet Tom Mitchell is another star the red and white will be missing this round.

Mitchell, who racked up 41 touches against Collingwood last Friday night, copped a poke in the eye at training on Thursday and has been ruled out of Saturday's cross-town match up with the Giants.

"He’s got some bleeding behind the eye,” Swans coach John Longmire.

“At this stage it’s definitely one week but it could be two weeks. We’ll have to wait and see.

“Obviously we have to be very careful with that type of injury.”

3:35pm: BULLDOGS LOSE SOME BITE AHEAD OF BIG CLASH

The Western Bulldogs have lost some key players ahead of their top-four clash with the West Coast Eagles.

Matthew Boyd (general soreness) and Liam Picken (back) will both miss the trip west, but the experienced pair are only expected to miss a week with the respective ailments according to Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge.

"We think they're just one week at this stage," Beveridge said.

"As we have all year, I think we've been able to cover some experience coming out of the side and we should be OK."

I have a few questions, purely looking for speculation answers, unless someone has news on T-Mitch...

1. What will Hodge's punishment be?
2. What will Fyfe's punishment be?
3. Will T-Mitch be back this week?

Fyfe contact is gray. North player looked to overrun ball, fyfe slid in as north player came back onto ball. Dockers will argue fyfe over the ball.
