Swans midfielder Dan Hannebery has come from behind to pip Nat Fyfe by one vote and win the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year Award.

Always heartwarming to hear stories like this:
"Yesterday I went out to Blacktown and watched the UWS Giants game. Some of the Giants senior players were sitting just a little way along from me, including Callan Ward. A little boy around 8 years of age discovered him and got him to sign all sorts of things including a footy. He sat next to Callan for the whole second half of the game and never stopped chatting away to him. Callan was great, he chatted back the whole time and at the end of the 3rd quarter took the little boy onto the ground and had a kick with him, giving him points on kicking, marking and even how to bounce the ball. What a happy day that little boy had. What a wonderful role model and person Callan Ward is. Congratulations for setting such a great example and making that little boys day, Callan."

Swans chairman Andrew Pridham has hit out on rumours that Lance Franklin was caught having an affair with a teammate’s partner and the players had pressured Franklin out of the club.
“I’ve heard that one,’’ he told The Australian.
“On that specific one, I’m extremely close to the other player and it’s laughable, absolutely laughable.
“The player doesn’t even have a partner, by the way, so it would be a neat trick.
“I’ve heard all the rumours and I wouldn’t say we investigate them, but certainly the most substantial and salacious-type rumours ― I’m comfortable they’re false.”
