Do you see Greene as a potential keeper? What do you think he could average?
Yes mate, a combination of all those potential factors is what I was referring to.
No not necessarily, just really dislike the franklin. Replace Greene with any half decent Supercoach player and Ill say the same.
Haha - looks like this is much more about avoiding Buddy than liking Greene :) I consider "neither" a viable response in this case (especially if you also list your preference)!

The retirement/three strikes rumours are obviously a worry with Buddy, as is his back. The volatility doesn't worry me if he ultimately averages okay, although it also means he might be available even cheaper when we know whether he is fit and mentally well. Maybe I need to find a better alternative though.

What do you think of Roughy? Anyone else you like around Greene's price ($450k)?

B Smith v E Yeo ?

Or would you take both / neither ?
Atm I have both in my sides and it will likely stay that way.

If I had to choose I, I think I'd take Yeo as he showed last year he is capable of toning up when given that midfield time, and with the WC key defenders coming back I think it's safe to assume he'll get that midfield time, plus a natural improvement in his game.

In a perfect world (no injuries) I would lean towards Selwood + Goldstein + Greene.

But with the injury to Selwood, you would want to know that he was right to go round one at atleast 95%.

Otherwise Wines + Goldstein + Merrett would be my perfered option.

Kind of depends which other premium mids you already have mate. I assume Ablett and Rocky are locked in so if you don't already have Pendles then I would probably go with a Pendles, Naitanui, Greene combo.

I do prefer Merrett to Greene though so if you could go Pendles, Naitanui, Merrett then I think that would be the winning combo. Of course having Goldy in there would be the best possible option but I would think that a Pendles, Goldy, Merrett combo would be to the detriment of the rest of your side.

If you already have Pendles then I would go with the Wines, Goldstein, Merrett combo.

Wines vs Parker?

If it wasn't for Libba I'd be taking both.
Parker v Wines

Both underpriced due to injury affected seasons in 2015. Who is the better pick though and why?
Both elite SC scorers of the future for sure.

I like Parker as a better option for this season, because he is 2 seasons more experienced and looks poised for a 110+ breakout. Many thought it would be this year on the back of a 108.5 season but things didn't fall into place. I feel that this is the season.

At Port Adelaide, Wines is quite probably second in line for the tag after Boak, whereas Sydney are full of damaging midfielders, and Parker would be further down the tagger's target list, with JPK and Hannerbery certainly ahead, and potentially Tom Mitchell and Kieran Jack.
Impossible to split IMO. Maybe Wines barely as Ports draw early is very very tasty and the injury was less severe.
Of the two, I'd go Parker - his price is similar but his best year is better than Wines', and his ceiling looks to be higher at this stage as well.

It's not the question you asked, but personally, I don't think there's much of a place for this type of selection this year, at least for most coaches. There are better players that are more discounted, and much cheaper players that are probably as good. If you are good at picking young players set to improve (your record indicates you might well be), that's probably fair enough, but for most of us I think it's better to pick a genuine fallen premium or a deeply discounted player than someone in between the two.

Thanks fellas, yeah I already have Penldes locked in my MID.
So it's just about working out whether to pay the extra coin for Goldy, which I am leaning too, and slotting in the remaining FWD and MID based on that due to the price different in Naitanui and Goldy.
As you said Ben, I also prefer Merrett over Greene.

Toby Greene (M/F) vs Elliott Yeo (D/M)?

If it makes a difference, Greene would be F4, Yeo would be D5. I will likely pick a D/F rookie or two, so the other personnel may not change at all: it's just Greene v Yeo, including the impact that has on my def and fwd line structures.

Greene needs midfield time to be Supercoach relevant. There he can get the contested possession numbers to hit the high 90s+. For him to achieve this injuries need to occur. Treloar has departed but Shiel and Coniglio will take this time.

Yeo needs midfield time and resting forward for his good scores. For him to achieve this injuries to backman need not to occur. West Coast should get all there backman back and backup youngsters will have another preseason under their belt, so will be more able to be solid replacements.

I see Yeo clearly ahead of Greene in this scenario.

Rookie priced players to start in the Fwd line: B.Kennedy v J.Anderson v D.Wells ?
Can I make this a foursome...? (or a fivesome with 'v none')

B.Kennedy v J.Anderson v D.Wells v D. Menzel ?

Currently I have Menzel in my team.
Subject to his NAB form/scores/role.
